Microwaves, would you miss yours

Not really; it's just a glorified and oversized popcorn machine on the few occasions we get round to using it.

Oh, and sometimes we quickly warm a mug of milk to add into mash, but that's about it.

Sadly, for all their promised convenience, the food coming out of a microwave nearly always tastes much worse than if you cooked it yourself - from dry scrambled eggs through to rubbery bacon, bouncy pizzas and unfluffy rice - it's nearly always a huge disappointment that makes you wish you had cooked. Even defrosted meat doesn't seem to fare that well ime - short of a for a stew or curry the meat texture always suffers.

the only thing i ever used a microwave for was heating up baked beans. and they taste better done on the hob anyway. so no, i don't miss having one.

I heated the soup up on the cooker, but I warmed the bowls up in the microwave, first! Put them in there with a drop of water in them and heat them for a minute.

my mam does that...she also heats plates in there before serving food on em. :)

Yeh heating plates is a good one. But we don't do that too often. Being able to heat cups of tea back up to proper warm is handy in our cold house. Otherwise.. Nah, wouldn't miss it. It's more a waste of space than a useful appliance.
