I'm with Mr Utan - Mann's idea of the pinnacle of civilisation would be to pour through the 1985 armani catalogue listening to Jan Hammer noodling on a prophet5. His films feature scripts hewn from baseball jargon delivered as barks between actors who generally speaking are above that type of thing. And for all all the Mann films I've seen (and thats most of em) his female charachters are weak as kittens, props draped over the shoulder of some sharp suited tosser 'stepping up to the plate'.

Ive heard some criticisms of Manns work before some perfectly valid....others complete and utter tosh with very little basis in the truth. That falls firmly into the latter its safe to say.
