Michael Jackson at the O2 - July 2009

I think he should do at least one free open air concert in London.

Trafalgar Square or something - that would be ace.

i disagree. if he does a free show somewhere in london there's a chance i'd accidentally get caught up in it. if you have to pay ££££ then at least i can be 100% certain that i'll avoid it.

Why is'nt he holding concerts in the US? is it because he would'nt attract flies due to adverse publicity hes had over the last few years?maybe the Yanks are'nt being taken in by him?

....or the UK is intelligent enough to understand what NOT GUILTY actually means.

Rik, do you genuinely think he is not guilty then? Do you think it was all about folk trying to milk him for money? (Sorry to put words in your mouth!

I was never sure, but a part of me always worried it was true, and the reason he was found not guilty had to do with 'How can we possibly ever find MICHAEL JACKSON of all people guilty of child molestation???'

to the earlier posters who said don't expect it to sell out - like fuck it isn't. Those tickets will vanish as they appear. Michael Jackson is now like one of those stamps where it really doesn't matter that the edge is chopped off with a pair of scissors because there's only one of the fuckers, and he's had a damn long time where no-one has seen him. And these will be his last concerts too. If Britney has the same quality, well you can get a hundred Britneys for one Michael Jackson. A (reasonably sane) friend of mine was at the press conference screaming for him, and she reports that the screamers at the front had to queue for two days!
we'll see.

<can resist gloating no longer> ;)

I honestly believe Michael Jackson had zero sexual interest in any of those children.

If the evidence was there, do you believe that a jury would find in favour of a child molestorer just because of who he is? It's not even as if he was held up on a pedistal when he was last tried. His legend status had long since been marred for 99% of the people.

Ok Rik fair enough.

But what about this - OK he had a strange life, he was abused as a child, he was in the limelight before he matured, etc, and all that probably factored into his strange adult ideas...........but for me, any adult who is spending that sort of alone time with children would ring alarm bells. Yes OK he may have problems himself, but that does not mean he foists them on minors too young to say no. His problems would better have been resolved privately rather than acted out.........and everyone too 'Oh its Michael Jackson!!!!' to do anything until it was too late. At the very LEAST he put him self in the firing line by failing to behave appropriately around children.

7 out of 10 little girls are abused Rik, and its not Michael Jackson doing it. I think the fact that it was him made it even harder to convict, not easier. How can you prove that at the end of the day, since much of it takes place when alone? The system fails young people on a daily basis and no-one does anything. So the qs could be turned around really - why do a jury find in favour? Its a hard call, made even harder when its someone as famous as him.....imo anyway.

I do believe he is mentally ill and no, I wouldn't leave my children with him. But that doesn't immediately mean he has sexual thoughts about children and has sexually abused the young boys like you are continually presupposing. Not to say that he hasn't though because neither of us know for sure, this is just my opinion of the matter.

Yeah I guess they can, but to be fair this stat came from a book on adult survivors of sexual abuse. Anyhow we're getting away from Mr Jackson now arent we!!!

One thing I have noticed with him is that many fans are serious fans of his and won't heard a word against. I guess it harks back to the good old days when he could do no wrong. I think the way stars are treated has changed a bit, but with him it was that bit too early. Anyway hopefully he won't do stuff like that anymore.

Your mind is obviously made up on this matter. I'm not sure debating it further will be worthwhile.
