The 'sound' is synthy and pretty and slightly psychadelic so the chap who recommended was kind of right.
No sexy funk in there, and its not 'raw' like he recommended either.
They're good but the album is a tad bitty. Some cracking tunes on there but some blatant fillers to boot too.
'Weekend Wars' and 'Kids' though are two of the best tracks I've heard all year from any band.![]()

They're a typical Pitchfork-endorsed band - not as godly as they claim, but pack a couple of tunes that will rightly make to a lot "songs of the year" lists, along too much filler to be truly enjoyable more than a few times before hitting the "skip" button.
Time To Pretend is class, for all that matters.

They seem to have achieved with that song alone more than the entire Arcade Fire back catalogue.

nah.
They have one song that was a right rip-off of Squeeze![]()

I thought it was gonna be nu ravey..... but i got an album and its really indie ish
although i havent listened to it fully, have i got the wrong end of the stick?

Up the Junction. Don't know what MGMT called their version.
Kids is good but they're painfully wanky.
