You're half right. What they actually need to do is travel back in time to when they were children and murder themselves. This might create a paradox that destroys the universe, but if it gets rid of Lars Ulrich then that's an accpetable sacrifice.

The name is crap, the sound of the new songs and riffs isn't. I'm torn between wanting to hope it'll be good (and for the Metallica I once new and loved to be back) and this entrenched feeling that they're waaaay past their peak...

I have not heard any of their stuff for ages now.
Napster killed them for me. Never really forgave them for that. Didn't understand it, didn't want to be a fan after they behaved that way.
I have actually seen them atleast 4 times live, so it was a bit of a rude awakening to think that the people that sang 'So Fucking What' could then be whining about piracy.
Just made them look like lying greedy assholes, all that rebellion shit, all that against the man, was just to sell records then?

Look I am not expecting you to sell millions of records and then go fight the man at a demo.
What I do expect is that what you sing about, the songs you cover, the attitude and presentation of your band, isn't a complete lie.
This is why I don't get involved with Boy Bands and the manufactured like. I prefer real people with real opinions about shit, singing about stuff they care about. Not people pretending to be something they are not, so they can sell me a record.

It's better than anything on St Anger! Although that isn't hard but yeah it's a nostalgia trip more than anything. This is probably their musical equivalent of a mid-life crisis....
