Metallica - where to start?

3/10, monotonous and monotone. I wasn't sure if I was listening to track 2 or track 10.
There could be a track on there that they could drop into a set of oldies and it would be a bit of a headbanger but thats about it.

Set list from the new tour.

Having been out for a while now I can say my opinion hasn’t changed much. Couple of almost very good tracks and the rest just runs into each in the most uninteresting way.

I thought Hardwired was pretty average (DM was pretty damn good and the best they’ve done since Load) but this makes that look very good indeed!

Yeah I managed about 5 minutes before I started skipping through the album to see if there was anything of interest. Unsurprisingly, there wasn't.

Nevertheless, I was on a train and needed something to listen so I decided to listen to the fan-produced remaster of Justice for all ('And Justice for Jason') with the actual bass guitar turned up to the levels they should've been. It sounds a million times better that anything they've done since the Black Album, and way better than the original.

This is very good and at the same time a little sad…what could have been. Does it exist as an mp3?

I’m sure it does, or fairly easy to rip as an mp3 off YouTube anyway.

Indeed, what could’ve been. I believe it was Lars being a cock which was behind the original bass-less album.
That’s my recollection; he did the arrangement for the mix. His drumming on it - whole technically impressive - sound awful in the mix, just so lacking like it was recorded in a tiny tin can…

I see their last album was called 'Hardwired...to Self-Destruct'

Yes, including the ellipsis. I do love how fucking ridiculous they are and how straight they play their schtick.

Previous album. Last was 72 seasons. A little better than hardwired.

I have just justed listening to Blackened! I know, the same song 10x over by 10 different bands x4, its crazy if not an interesting exercise.
This is a band someone recommended on a drunken night out ( Mongolian throat singers ). Brilliant
