I'm afraid they say nothing to me about my life.

Leper Messiah Lyrics (Metallica)

Spineless from the start, sucked into the part,
Circus comes to town, you play the lead clown,
Please, Please,
Spreading his disease, living by his story,
Knees, Knees,
Falling to you knees, suffer by his glory,
You will

Time for lust, time for lie,
Time to kiss your life goodbye,
Send me money, send me green,
Heaven you will meet,
Make a contribution,
And you'll get a better seat,
Bow to the Leper Messiah

Marvel at his tricks, need your Sunday fix,
Blind devotion came, rotting your brain,
Chain, Chain,
Join the endless chain, taken by his glamour,
Fame, Fame,
Infection is the game, stinking drunk with power,
We see

Time for lust, time for lie,
Time to kiss your life goodbye,
Send me money, send me green,
Heaven you will meet,
Make a contribution,
And you'll get a better seat,
Bow to the Leper Messiah

Witchery, weakening,
Sees the sheep are gathering,
Set the trap, hypnotize,
Now you follow

Time for lust, time for lie,
Time to kiss your life goodbye,
Send me money, send me green,
Heaven you will meet,
Make a contribution,
And you'll get a better seat,
Bow to the leper Messiah

Lie

Not sure that would say anything to anyone about their life, to be fair :D :D

Any song mentioning clowns is already on a loser with me.

what, even

Isn't it rich?
Are we a pair?
Me here at last on the ground,
You in mid-air.
Send in the clowns.

Isn't it bliss?
Don't you approve?
One who keeps tearing around,
One who can't move.
Where are the clowns?
Send in the clowns.

Just when I'd stopped opening doors,
Finally knowing the one that I wanted was yours,
Making my entrance again with my usual flair,
Sure of my lines,
No one is there.

Don't you love farce?
My fault I fear.
I thought that you'd want what I want.
Sorry, my dear.
But where are the clowns?
Quick, send in the clowns.
Don't bother, they're here.

Isn't it rich?
Isn't it queer,
Losing my timing this late
In my career?
And where are the clowns?
There ought to be clowns.
Well, maybe next year.

Dreadful lyrics

:D True, but imagine if they were fronted by a lyricist that made you think, like Jarvis Cocker....

You wouldn't know whether to headbang or arch your eyebrow:p

Metallica, you know what to do to it:cool:

*chuckles*

First and foremost lars ulrich is a cock a complete and utter cock.

Metallica are a band i have a hell of a lot of time for, kirk hamnet's soloing pisses me off no end as they are quality but don't seem to have anything to do with the song which is really silly. I love almost everything they have put out with the exception of load which was toss.

I can't believe i have yet to see them live:(

i've seen metallica twice. once i was fourteen and they were ace, as metal should be when you're fourteen. i saw them again when i was 20 and they were toss.

just remembered this... haha, when i was thirteen i thought the lyrics to 'nothing else matters' were like total wisdom dude... i remember my best mate and i earnestly playing it to a friend of ours who was a bit older and not into metal when she got dumped by her boyfriend. we were fortunate enough to get a blank look and slightly patronised.

where's the option for "they're shit now, they've always been shit"?

Hurrah, it's not just me :D I particularly hate that song where the guy is armless and legless.

Them and the darkness, guaranteed to have me reaching for the mute button(if the Kerrang channel is on)

They were all right back in the day when i was a teenage rocker. I quite liked the Black album, but i still haven't heard St Anger.

Take em or leave em nowadays...

Strangely though i still remember where i was when i first heard the mighty Master of Puppets :o :D

First time I went to see them was 1990 at Wembley , shit venue great gig.

Still like them in a guilty way, and yes , Lars is a cock of the highest order and these days a shit drummer - Just listen to him live at the Sundance Festival, I could do better.

1990? I saw em in 92 at the Arena (the Saturday gig), was fucking mental!

i only got in to them after the black album. and i still havent got their classic albums. St anger was a pile of fucking shite
and lars is one of the biggest twats around. but togther they were good.

but when there songs came on in the rock clubs, you couldnt move for the people on the floor headbanging away to it. including me :D

Thinking about it it may of been '89 with Warriors Of Soul supporting

And then that time at Hammersmith Apollo when they did a preview of the Black album, all of the fans hoping that they would show up....

Haven't heard the latest one, but I liked all the 90's Metallica albums (and a lot of "And Justice For All").

Don't like Hetfield as a person though, I read a Q & A with him once where he came off as a macho p***k.

I loved Metallica very dearly in my late teens, but my god, what a shower of complete fucking arseholes.

Metallica i reckon are masters of the highest order and their musical legacy is legendary,

i was a bit disappointed with the lars ulrich - napster antics which i suspect has somethin to do with their monumental empire. Perhaps they have lost touch a bit with the rock n roll aspect of their mission.

Should they should be forgiven for maybe losing their focus a bit, because the original sound is still evident in recent recordings, and that is a sound that stands the test of time and is still relevant?

Past it? Compared to what or whom - their past catalogue or some smackhead no-hoper producing bland Britpop ten years to late?

Jesus.
