Metallica are a band i have a hell of a lot of time for, kirk hamnet's soloing pisses me off no end as they are quality but don't seem to have anything to do with the song which is really silly. I love almost everything they have put out with the exception of load which was toss.

i was a bit disappointed with the lars ulrich - napster antics which i suspect has somethin to do with their monumental empire. Perhaps they have lost touch a bit with the rock n roll aspect of their mission.

Should they should be forgiven for maybe losing their focus a bit, because the original sound is still evident in recent recordings, and that is a sound that stands the test of time and is still relevant?
