Looking back, in that first year it started as a pretty mellow label. 1994 was the year Jungle blew up and ragga jungle and jump up were dominant...so what was Metalheadz saying? Metlaheadz was saying bollocks to that and going musical instead

DJ Law's done a couple of Metlaheadz mixes IIRC, I can vouch for this one - pulling out the early dark plates that Metalheadz came to be synonymous with

i wouldve gone but its put on by Basslaced at Fire, and the Exit records 10th annviersary at the same venue was oversold so badly by Basslaced that me and a lot of people left because of the crush - would love to have gone to this in theory too but it is also a sell out, and if its anything like Exit you'd have more fun on a commuter train at rush hour.

Basslaced never apologised for it and even denied it was oversold - they've made an enemy with me on that score - so every chance i get im more than happy to say Boycott Basslaced and their money grabbing bullshit promotions.

Metalheadz regularly do history sessions - best go once the heat dies down a bit

no, that was Hidden/Chunnel Club (as it used to be called). It's closed down recently for reasons i know not. It has since been squatted though and last weekends party with the usual suspects was there apparently.

I was there as were a couple of other Urbs. It was fucking brilliant. All the musicians were incredible but the drummer in particular must have lost about 3 stone through sweat during the performance :D
