I'm currently tempted by some of the Junkers or Zepplin range of watches.

Classic designs with either modern quartz or mechanical movements - eg the Russian Poljot movement or the classic Valjoux Chronograph.

Eek - A Valjoux 7750 movement for @£600!

70's, 80's and 90's Seiko's are all lovely to my mind. .

Yes, I have one I found in a pub car park in the early 80s, broken strap, dropped & rather scratched but it has kept good time ever since. A couple of years back, I put a better strap on it & cleaned-up the scratched face with t-cut & now wear it again quite often. Its day/date is in French too!
