What really puzzles me more than anything is, it seems in general that very few people actually like MCs. Especially after some of the things they end up doing to a good tune. Who on earth keeps thinking its a good idea to have one?

Why doesn't the DJ seem to mind the jabbering fool ruining the entire buildup to the tune?

MC Moose and Five 0 at Roast in the early 90's were brilliant.

Does anyone have any links to mixes with good MC'ing. please.

Saw Grooverider at my student uni around 2000/2001 - he refused to let the local oinks MC :D

The worst MC I saw was when I went to this private party where Deadlock was playing (yay!) with bluestreak, tastebud and a few others. This jumped up white guy started MCing and was *really* shit, he clearly thought he was shit hot and acted like he was rocking the audience but he fucking sucked.

I was slagging him off loads and then later when he wasn't MCing he tried it on with me (again, acting like he was shit hot).....eeurgh, hated him even more after that :D

Saying that theres probably some good ones out there. Thing is I aint ever seen one or heard one that didnt sound better with the mike turned off

1. It's MCs - there's no apostrophe (sorry but I do admin in a school where all the teachers misuse the apostrophe like there's no tomorrow and it drives me fucking mad :D)
2. You're a heathen wrong'un for sure.

sorry Miss :(

tbh, i'm the other way - i find d&b dead boring without mcs... even a relatively indifferent one will improve my appreciation of the choonz.

d&b without an mc feels a bit empty to me.

Not keen on MCs, generally speaking, but Ishu (Unsound) keeps on changing my mind about the way I feel.

I'm going to call on tinks for this thread ;)

<wanders off to look for long lost flatmate>

Lol! Haven't read whole thread just in case someone's said something mean about me other half like but i think MC's can either make or break a rave... obviously you're gonna get some crap mc's, like you're gonna get crap dj's, but there are a lot of good mc's about who will get the crowd going and really work it, you know!

There are obviously some dnb tunes that aren't meant to have mc's chatting over it and they know that so good one's don't even try... but at the same time if an mc is booked for a rave then the dj doing the set should play the type of music that works well with mc's, if that makes sense!

Fatman D is my favourite. Purely for his vocals you understand... :D

xXx

PS - Hiya everyone... it's been a while... hope you're all ok... :)

Eh? I ain't no deejay, but if I was I'd be well fucked off if that was the case.

But if the promoter had booked an MC for that time slot it makes no sense to fuck up each other's set does it?

But pretty much all an MC does is fuck up the DJ's set IME.
