McDonalds: London Olympics becomes McOlympics

I just don't understand all these people getting in such a lather about mcd, while ignoring the fact that every other food corporation is exactly the same.

I don't disagree that Mcd is shit, but I disagree with attacking it just because attacking it is trendy at the moment.

Trendy? Come off it. There is a momentum. That's got to be better than loads of smaller cases of protest hasn't it?

Also there's history, we have Ronnie by the balls with their previous conduct. And we know how they operate so they are more vunerable.

On top of that, if we can get a ruling on them then it can be applied across the industry.

That'll be good.

What's happening here is that service and quality at Mcd are falling off, so they're losing customers as a result.

I've eaten in Mcd at times over the years, but lately I avoid it, because I don't like waiting in line for bad service and uneven food.

Mcd has become overbloated from its own success, and that'll be its ultimate undoing.

McDonald's currently spends more money on advertising in general than any other brand in all industries combined, helping it replace Coca-Cola as the world's most famous brand, according to "Fast Food Nation" author Eric Schlosser.

The fast food franchise operates more playgrounds than any other American private corporation, is the namesake for McKids, which is the bestselling line of children's clothing in the United States, and is one of the largest toy distributors. In 1998, 89 percent of American children under age 8 had visited McDonald's at least once per month.

Furthermore, according to a research study of American children, 96 percent of those surveyed could recognize Ronald McDonald, making him the second most identifiable fictional character after Santa Claus.

All this has led Schlosser to conclude, "The impact of McDonald's on the way we live today is hard to overstate."

Check out what goes into tinned food, loaves of bread from big bakeries, etc etc.
Look Johnny, we get different food over here, it's not half as processed as over there. Whenever we get people from the states over at work they are amazed at how the food tastes. Most food that you get over here is by and large ok

Dunno about that one - I think Morgan Spurlock would have been in pretty rough shape if he'd spent a month living on Gregg's pasties!
