i have a tosh laptop, equium a60-155 with 512mb ram in it

recently got broadband from orange and am using one of their crappy erxternal usb modems

i have been experiencing 'pauses' when using the thing recently, since orange bb was installed - unsure if it's linked

how do i find out what the max allowable RAM is in this model??

have googled and have read three different opinions ranging thru 1gig , 1.25gig and 2 gir

Run a test at Crucial.

the best true way to finding out is by finding where the ram goes in your laptop and seeing visually what spaces are free, if its full, you should be able to buy ram that is bigger but unfortunately you would have to throw away whats in there now in order for it to go in presuming its full. If its not full , then you place it next to it.
