Saoirse don Phalaistín!
I remember the animatrix stuff being pretty good.
Far, far better than the movie sequels.

*ugh*
The Grand Speech and technohippytrancerave scene, inter-cut with Keeenooo and spanner-chick making dry, scratchy, robot love is probably one of the greatest atrocities ever committed to film.

Who knew all the world's best computer hackers were rastas and maoris?

I particulalry like the fact that you can watch them again and spot things that you did not pick up on the first time and have a better understanding of the film. Like the fact that it is the seventh version of the matrx.
Second two films are not as good as the first but still piss all over a lot of other science fiction movies.

I love the whole thing, have the 9 disc special edition. And i can still watch and enjoy and spot new things.
Not hard to spot is it? it's in the dialogue.
I thought it was the 6th version?
The Architect even says to Neo (regarding Zion) "This will be the 6th time we have destroyed it, and we are getting very proficient at it".

Maybe 6, have not watched it for a while..... but he says that towards the end, if you watch from the beginning with that knowledge, all sorts of other things which did not make sense first time around suddenly become clear.
It's all nonsense jibber jabber though, admit it.

Exactly.
There were two specific bits in the 2nd one - the conversation with the frenchman in the restaurant and the speech by the architect - which must be two of the single most ridiculous pieces of twaddle I've ever heard in a movie.
I've been more entertained in planning meetings.

That's because you dont understand it!
Unfair, maybe you do, but just dont like that sort of thing, I dont know.
I am, to paraphrase Mark E Smith, a layman, i am not interested in how technically proficient it is, or how clever the plot is, i am just interested in if i enjoyed it. I do enjoy these films and no ammount of persuasion will change my opinion. I happen to think the plot is quite clever in places (even though there are one or two cheesy bits).
Surely all science fiction is "nonsense jibber jabber" to lesser or greater extents. What is wrong with that? Or should we all stick with 'To kill a mocking bird' or 'All the Presidents men'.
Apocalypse now, Pulp Ficton, No country for old men, the italian job, one flew over the cuckoos nest, ... all "nonsense jibber jabber", i still like them.
for "nonsense jibber jabber"... read escapism.

There's a difference between, on the one hand, a well-plotted, internally consistent story that depends on some fictional conceit or breaking the laws of physics and, on the other hand, a load of tosh that doesn't even stick to its own rules and never really explains why a lot of shit happens. That's because you dont understand it!

Shut up. It's just rubbish and everyone in the world knows it. The first film is great but no manner of bonkers computer graphics made the second and third film even slightly entertaining.
Apocalypse now, Pulp Ficton, No country for old men, the italian job, one flew over the cuckoos nest. They are all good films, reloaded and the other one are shit films. Really shit films. I love escapism and even the matrix set up (like I said the first film is great). How can you sit there and defend such a load of steaming crap and dare to suggest that I say it is full of jibber jabber simply because I don't understand it.
Uh, how insulting. Emo.

Surely the main objective of a film is to entertain. If it challenges intellectually or stimulates in some other way... bonus. But if it does not, i can still be entertained.
I.
Indeed. However the 2 sequels did not entertain me and were not certainly not in the slightest bit cerebral or intellectual in any way.
