Mates in Cool Bands

Don't know about the cool bit but...

A mates sister goes out with a bloke from The Stereophonics
Another mates cousin is the guitarist with The Sisters Of Mercy
And I know a fat bloke who used to be in Neds

Im mates with a couple of the guys who used to be in a band called Kid Symphony and I know a girl who is a backing singer for Faithless.

edit - And I once travelling round New Zealand with a guy and his girlfriend who grew up and went to school with the guitar player from Catatonia - poor i know. :)

i think it's cooler to know people in bands that are right cocks and hate their guts and spill gossip about them at every available oppurtunity

hmm...

not exactly mates but i was drinking in the same pub as 2 of the broken family band the other night.

they were very loud  and they disturbed me and my friends who were talking *delicately* in the corner.

A mate of a mate is the lead singer of Bloc Party and I had a pint with him once.. I am so nang it hurts sometimes.

I also know all three members of Mousetrap very well.

No, the hit new boyband.. we'll.. erm, they'll be huge in a couple of years. 'They' are already touring New York with Kenzie from Blazin' Squad.

My ex housemate, university friend, and two other mates I picked along the way:

The Stabilisers

Bestest tune: Bendy Head, a classic! ;)
Bendy Head is such a brilliant song!
Wicked!
I didn't think many people knew about them...
I saw them play one night at The Alma in Crystal Palace, and had a great time. I'd never heard of them but they played Bendy Head and we had a great mini-mosh pit... I haven't enjoyed many gigs where I'd never heard of the band as much as that one (admittedly a lot of it was spent outside getting caned with the singer from The Ludes, which may have contributed to just how cool The Stabilisers were)
"The best thing about you is your bendy head, BENDY BENDY BENDY..." :D
I'm going to have to go and listen to it now in fact!

Saw them up The Alma back in about February or March - top band! :)

I shared a spliff with Radiohead's gardener at a wedding once. But he's not really my friend. Or really in a band.

see if radiohead were half as cool as the beastieboys he would have is own record deal and you be able to buy action figures of him in over-priced tat-boutiques....
