Masters Snooker

Great game, Selby deserved more but just goes to show how snooker has developed this past few years! Immense stuff!

I watched 'til 10, but couldn't justify any further with work today. Sounds like a cracker though, with Ronnie getting his confidence back.

I stayed up for this one, what a match - proper 'edge of yer seat' stuff. Can't believe how many misses there were... even for a snooker final. Really glad to see Ronnie come through, against the odds - Selby is a very determined fella, I thought he was more up for it than Ronnie was.. but it was really nice to see Ronnie all happy at the end, and his friends and family too, laughing and joking around in the green room.

I like how even the Davises, Thorns, Virgos, Taylors, etc, can't always be 100% certain of what Ronnie's going to do. It may not always come off, but his mind seems to venture to shots that others don't reach.

Virgo's the worst, he seems incapable of telling what shot anyone's going for. "What's he doing? He can't get back to balk from that angle - no wait, he's potted the pink". To rival his other many catchphrases, such as "Where's the white going? WHERE'S THE WHITE GOING!!!", "Inch perfect", "He now goes favourite for the frame" etc.

Talking of commentators, did anyone else notice Clive Everton's absense from the semis and final? Terrible to think that while eveyone was getting caught up in the passing of David Vine, they somehow managed to sideline the 'voice of snooker' without anyone noticing.

Everton's boring though, he doesn't really talk about the technical aspects of the game, just what's happening.

Taylor and Thorburn will tell you how that such a shot needs reverse side or whatever and that's good for amateurs at the game too I think than just saying what's happening.

I quite like Everton's voice, he just tells a nice story - but it's nice to have someone next to him pointing out the technical stuff.

Just remembered, that final had everything - even a moth!
