MasterChef - The Professionals

I'm not feeling the poached pheasant's egg just lying there on the plate....it looks so in need of a slice of toast and not a bunch of asparagus....

And marianne's asparagus parcels, altho technically bloody marvellous involved a level of faffing about with-ness, that I wouldn't want done to my food....too much handling...

Three cheers for the rescue of the strawberry jellies that had been G-forced in that blast chiller....god I want a blast chiller....

Marianne did best today, scrummiest looking lunch deffo. Surprised Steve did such a dull looking meal, probly knackered from perparing for the previous days extravaganza.

Her asparagus stuff looked very nice, but really, what a fucking faff! sod it, just get 'em out there.

I don't think he did any better or worse than Marianne tbh. The ginger one was definitely out, and then it was just a toss up between Ryan and Marianne.

I don't think he was up his own arse either. He was just *well* serious and never smiled. He really wanted it and looked like he would murder someone for the prize.

I know voiceover woman always repeats everything about forty six times per programme, but she really seemed to go overboard in telling us that Ryan was the youngest person in the semi finals. So I reckon - unless there's a rule barring such things - that we'll be seeing Ryan in the competition next year or the year after.

I think Daniel wil nick this in the end.

Could you be arsed putting a crust of pie on top of a bowl of soup....so you break through it and leave it on the side of the plate....poor Steve, no wonder his lids collapsed into the soup, out of disgust no doubt.

But how clever was his tribute to Keith Floyd later on....loved the bow tie on the plate.....that had the mark of a winner.

And didnt you just know the crazy frog judge would love the puddings....bless him, he chortles away with sugar rush.

Michel Roux Jr was born and raised in Leeds ;)

Steve really pulled it back last night...the Flotd tribute was ace as was the dessert. As soon as Danile mentioned "lance Armstrong" I thought "oh dear"

I thought Daniel showed best overall yesterday, he did a blinding job in the college kitchen and very well in the Masterchef one.

Steve is clearly the man to be still, tho he does always seem to do a lot better in the MC kitchen than anywhere else. Could that prove to be his downfall???

No way. Ludo had a bad round - safety first options that weren't as well balanced as they could be. His opponent took more risks and justifiably won.

I miss his distinctive droopy-dawg eyes mind

Isn't it about being the best cook...would they actually be offered a job in a Michelin-starred place or open their own like the lady who runs Wahaca? I think he's the most inventive and to stand on his own as a chef he's the best of the three.

Well marianne will win then, cos she's the best cook. Steve is a better chef and menu deisgner (or something like that). Could Steve actually work in someone else kitchen? Could he really run his own? If he can't do either of those things, he's in trouble!

He probably can do both tho, and will win.

I really like Marianne. I don't think she'll win, but I do think she's a good cook. She clearly loves cooking.

Steve's got it in the bag though. His is the food I say "Oh wow, I want to eat that". And he works at Launceston Place! You have to be good to work there, and he's got experience of high-end cooking. I reckon he could do his own place.

Have any of you been to Wahaca, run by Thomasina Myers (2005 winner), btw? I absolutely recommend it, it's really good. There's one in Covent Garden and one at Westfield.

Well, given that he's a professional chef who's been working in other people's kitchen for several years I'd say the answer is yes, he can.

But not in this show, and this must be where we judge him. He ahs consistently fucked up when placed n unfamiliar kitchens

Wahaca is well worth a visit.. long queues to get in at Covent Garden when I last went..

Dom Joly for the win in this comp.
