Thanks, I was watching a little of it on youtube today.

So a while ago there was a contestant named Emily who was only 18 years old? Was she some kind of phenom? I saw on one show she mixed chocolate with peppers and that one judge said it didn't go. Well he was wrong. It does go together! I hope she sticks with it and enjoys it and doesn't waste her talent. Wow

I love watching it and I love cooking, but cooking to that level is not for me, I'm a cook, not a chef.

Even so it still does my head in a bit that this is another show where the entrants have to be seen to be desperate to do something different in their lives, to want to move on - its like a televised career selection process.

Why can't it just be about being the best amateur chef, why do you have to say you want to jack it all in (because obvious what you do now must just be really shitty) so you can win and go on to be a skivvy at Le Gavroche, or some corner of the Ramsay empire, or be Marco Pierre White's new protege etc.

Yeah she was pretty amazing, I still remember the perfect egg yolk ravioli she did, that looked incredible.
