Why is there no option for hubby does the dishes??
I will wipe a plate/piece of cutlery before it has air dried if needed but that's about it.

apparently, as long as you plant a tree you can do whatever you like :)

I've planted lots of trees  But I am running out of room in the garden now :(

There's at least 12 in the garden and more in pots, and I'm planting them just outside my garden too :o

I guess it depends on how sharp the knives are. Also all the handles of my cutlery are the same so the blade need to be up so I can tell it's a knife

I often end up wiping the dishes, etc, dry purely because the washing up's been left for two days and there's so much to do that I have to put one load away before there's space to stack the next load.

All the cutlery is handles up. The drainer has different sections for different types of cutlery anyway.

If I had a dishwasher, I'd view it as basically an extra cupboard that that happened to wash as well as store and only switch it on when it was full - probably saving energy overall. :) Oh, I wish I could have one :(

We have a dishwasher, but it's only small so not everything goes in there if we've had a big meal. Some things do get dried with a tea towel, because the draining board's not big enough for pans etc.

Sod that. A dishwasher is no longer a luxury good, it's a standard kitchen appliance. Hand washing certainly isn't better, unless you don't own enough dishes to fill the thing.

By hand either you wash the dishes in a tub of water that gets filthy, so you save energy but the dishwasher does a better cleaning job, or you wash under running water, in which case the dishwasher is well more efficient.

And pre-dishwasher, I never dried unless there were so many dishes that they didn't all fit in the rack.

Good lord, I think I've done a proper set of dishes about 6 times since living here, and we moved in 8 years ago :o

He does kitchen stuff, apart from cooking, and I do the rest. Apart from hoovering. He does that too.

Oh, and sometimes I ask him to clean the bathroom while I'm at work.

God I'm a lazy bitch.

I did do housework yesterday though. Managed a whole half of the living room.

I have just tidied the dining table too. But I was forced too because I spilled a double espresso all over it :(

Oh, but your poll: first option - shit, if all else fails - drying.

I've only just got my own place after sharing with many and varied loons over the years and I do *both* as I am *house-proud* as it's *my* house, even though it's a rented studio flat.

but if knives are the ONLY thing with handles up, then you know they're knives.:p
