yup same here i love my hoops but i do end up loosing them quite a lot so cheap and cheerful for me.

I used to wear creoles when i was at school, along with my initial ring and my name in gold.... i was proper;)
:D That's aces! Elizabeth Duke rulez!

I love hoops, like Spangles I wear them most days. I love really thin plain hoops in gold or silver, and wear them big and small.
Chunkier ones only work in silver I think or you start to look like Carole Jackson.

Im not keen on creole type hoops.

I really dont like the ones with twists or spirals, or the ones with slightly flat bottoms. I think they can look vulgar.

all the teenage girls seem to be wearing big creole-style earrings these days, rather than just plain hoops. well, some of them do anyway. a lot, at least.

the woman who works in the chippy near my work wears big gold hoops with "bitch" written in them. which is nice :)

i would like these earrings please.

I've got some massive black hoops and I love wearing them when I have me hair all messy and tied up, but they were only cheap and the black is peeling off and also me holes in me ears have closed up and keep bleeding everytime I ram things into em.

i kind of like repiercing my ears after i haven't worn earrings for a while.

nicey pain.

yeah mum and nan had those, nan had a charm bracelet that had two charms per link it was like a porcupine of gold round her wrist, she was proper too:):D

Oh and two sets of creoles per ear as well

Ooo, that was your 9000th post!

Wasn't there a thing about how many bars the gates had as well?

Earrings cheer up your face :) They bring a little sparkle and glamour to the moneymaking visarrrge.

Weren't you made to wear them as a child to look pretty for relatives at weddings?

I think they look unbelievably awful and did the last time they were 'fashionable' too. I just don't get it. Yuck.

I wasn't allowed to wear ear-rings as a kid, I wasn't allowed to get them pierced til I was 16. Straight down to Cheesemans in Lewisham the minute I was allowed!

It really annoys me when people wear them and they end up sticking out sideways. I just want to grab them and put them back the right way.

Yeah, my fucking mum got my ears pierced when i was a baby cos 'all pretty little girls should have their ears pierced' so I had no choice in the matter. Took them out when I was a fully fledged tomboy at around 9 years old though.

I think they look really great on some people but cheap and nasty on others.

Rule of thumb would be: if you try some and you fear you might look cheap, you probably do :D

Ive had mine pierced from babyhood too I think its a cultural thing, I know some people here consider it abusive. I dont think Id do it to my own child.

My darling God-daughter has her ears pierced, but Lolly would be perfect with no bling too.

I feel naked without at least studs or sleepers in my ears. As my mum says, you arent dressed until you have your earrings in!
