Marks and Spencer two dine for £10

Doesn't sound like that great a deal to me, I usually manage to cook 2 days worth of food at a time for 2 people from scratch for around £2 - £3 total, and we have perfectly drinkable wine on offer locally at a tenner for 3 bottles, if we spent £10 on one meal with just half a bottle of wine per person it would be very dear tbh.

I do understand the being too knackered to cook scenario though - when I am working full time the end of the week is takeaway or ready meal time because neither of us have the energy to cook anything.

a mate of mine got a chicken in her deal the other week and with a bit of extra veg she got a family meal out of her dinner for 2 as the apple pie she had for dessert was enough for 4 pieces too

when I think about the £15 i spent in the chinese after a couple of pints last night it seems good value !!

I bet your takeaway costs more than a tenner too ;)

Yeah, but you don't have as much fun with the M&S ready meals, and you certainly won't have any leftover takeaway goodies to eat guiltily the next morning.

Haven't gone for this particular meal deal, but there's nothing wrong with the occasional burst of M&S food for convenience. However, I'm not particularly fussed on dessert and L drinks wine faster than me, so perhaps this deal isn't the best for me personally - the portions are depressingly on the side of a bit too small. Half an hour later and I'm usually peering in the fridge in the forlorn hope of finding a tasty forgotten treat.

waitrose jumped on the same bandwagon a couple of weeks ago, but. I'm not sure if they've repeated the offer. They didn't have as much variety as m&s though.

Ah yes, the hallmark of my student days...

A half empty can of flat cider and the remains of last night's doner kebab.

The breakfast of champions.

My mum said it wasn't as nice.

Today we have roast chicken, asparagus spears, rhubarb crumble and a bottle of sauvignon blanc

They aren't doing the whole chickens down here. Probably just as well as we have our own in the freezer :D

We are surrounded by great Indian takeaways and a good Chinese too, £15 of takeaway does 2 days for 2 people (loverly leftovers :D ) so it still works out cheaper. Tbh if it cost more than a tenner for 2 round here they'd not stay in business long! We are lacking a good local chippy which is a shame, although the Seahorse up in East Ham is great and you can eat in, they do a lovely cuppa and their rock salmon is lush :D

It's rather nice!! the toffee pudding is yummy! We also had the turkey and was so tasty. As a side dish we went for the potatoes, mmmm so good. I like it actually, it's a nice change for me, i usually do the cooking at home :)

Maybe there wasn't much left? I went on Thursday when they had just put stock out and there was quite a lot of choice.

Well I went to the Brixton one on Friday and they didn't even seem to be having the promotion unlike the previous week - or is it only on Thursdays?

I thought it was really good! We got the whole chicken and roasties with a bottle of white and the melting choc puds. The choc pud lasted two nights and I made the rest of the chicken into soup and sandwiches so thought it was a bloody good deal. The wine on its own is €7, so its a great deal for €12. Is it on again this weekend?

It's every other week. So it will happen again this weekend afaik

oh right, dunno why I'm bothered though. As much as I like chicken, I'm on a low-fat diet so all that pastry is no good :(

oh, just remembered, you can get a whole chicken can't you.

There is a whole chicken which you can roast and then take the skin off ;)

(although there is the pudding problem :()

Today: Sole fillets, nice green veg mix, English cheese selection (instead of dessert), rose £10 :) Thanks for the tip-off

I printed out, laminated and bound the feed your family for a fiver recipes today :D

Sod all this feed 2 for a tenner! ;)
