Gypsy - are these marketing peeps or sales people? Those seem like faily high average salaries for non-management marketing positions, even on client side (typically Unilever will pay brand managers about £25-£30K a year and expect them to have first class marketing/related degrees.

They are marketing managers for software company. I agree the rates are well above what ive seen at other companies for marketing professionals.

Well, what do you mean by worthwhile? If you like hard work, getting bolloxed by other members of the company for not having a 'real' job and having great christmas supplier led christmas dos, go into marketing! However, if you want something meaningful, get another job. Simple as that...

The same thing happens here. Mainly because the marketing section all get paid way more than others, plus they have an open cheque book to do what they want. Directors/Senior Ex`s love them so they get a massive bonus each year for all the "work" they do. Whereas, all the people actually producing and supporting the products get nothing. Hense there is a bit of resentment by other members of the company.
