i've found some old Saxon and Shaka ones over the years.

yeh, i've found the same. there must be more somewhere on the web! i'd love to hear some more live stuff....

if you want to buy them this is the main place

Personally unless you really wanted a specific sound I wouldnt buy from him, as they can be found for free elsewhere, but it is a good place just to be in awe of his creative accountancy skills and oldschool webdesign.. the fucker charged me $100 for some Socialist Roots tapes and a bunch of other near impossible to find soundtapes a few years back.. but I love him for it.. (shame I can not find them now)

sweet

best free place is Soulseek, no particular room for them but people who dig soundtapes usally have shit loads, I think I have about 5gigs on my H/D, UK and JA, my favourite being an old Young Lion soundcalsh where they completely rip the piss out of Saxon Sound System and also and Stur Mars dance from '86 which has all the stars Burro Banton, Supercat, Tenor Saw etc it was a fundraiser for the PNP.. got a video of it as well somewhere. I think one of the earliest soundtapes I have heard is a King Tubby one from 1975, lots of hiss, buts is pretty cool to actually hear Tubby at the controls before his sound system was wrecked by the cops..

well if you listen before 9pm tonight, you can still catch last weeks. the first one in the series was just Lamarr playing some faves.

If you know of an easy way for me to submit it as a torrent, I can load it tonight for you.

Thx for the offer but i've never tried to upload anything to torrent sites, it's always seemed very complicated so haven't gone near it.

I can live without them tbh, just a bit miffed that I missed the boat. Cest Le Vie.

well that was a bit crap if you ask me. Barrington Levy sounded only half there....

and Marc missed out shedloads of good tunes.

dunno - maybe it's just me. it seemed a bit flat compared to the Ken Boothe one - and i thought Marc could've selected much better tracks....after all, it's Barrington Levy, he had LOADS to choose from :D

or maybe he just didn't choose all my favourites.... :o although i do like Englishman. i didn't catch what Marc says about it just before he played it. he said something - i'll have to listen again. peeling spuds got in the way...

anyway, check out when Levy can't remember his first release and Marc has to remind him of it :D

i do too. he's one of my all time favourite singers and his a couple of his records would be on my all time list of fucking brillant songs.

dunno Dub - it lacked the charm of the other shows for me <shrug>

Levy was right about one thing, the people who love his tunes, love them long time! :)

one thing i really do rate about Marc Lamarr - he loves his dub etc. but he doesn't just bang on about *intelligent* reggae.

it seems to me he appreciates a lot of the more popular (populist?) stuff too - and doesn't dismiss it out of hand like so many 'serious' reggae fans seem to. after all, having such a narrow stance, a person is missing out on masses & masses of great music.

I used to listen to the Lamarr Reggae Shows to death 10 years ago.
Has anyone got any mp3s of old shows that they can share? I'm pretty sure i've got about 6 on Minidiscs at my Mum's house that I'll gladly rip and share when I get the chance - but I need some NOW!
