The unique, irreplaceable, curmudgeon genius that is Mark E. Smith has died. Perhaps not so much of a shock, given recent reports, but still a sad day.

Struggling to take this in. Haven't kept up with the band and haven't really listened to them properly for a long time. But they meant absolutely everything to me during my teen years.

    RIP

Very sad news.Weirdly enough late last night I played about an hour of Fall songs and video clips of a documentary on him and a fairly recent interview on Channel 4.

    Damn :(

Only saw Fall the once, as a student around the time of Middle Class Revolt. Smith singing 'Hey Student' to a nearly all student crowd with proper disdain :D

Well, until he just went and sat down for a while on the stage and let the rest of the band carry on :D

Cheers Mark, you proper one-of-a-kind

    Wtf?

Then I properly heard “Live at the Witch Trials” perhaps the best ever album title ....
