margaret thatcher death watch

Does anyone else get a bit hopeful when they see this thread bumped?

No I tend not to any more, because, the usual bump-reason is either some sound leftie adding more reasons to party when she dies :)

Or alternatively some weakwilled ditherer or other moaning and handwringing against real Thatcherhaters with the courage of their hate, daring to 'gloat' and 'celebrate' the death of a 'past it old woman' whose death 'won't matter' :hmm:

OK I'll put this out there, but I'm not confident of a good reception.....I don't want her to die, (just yet). There it is; feeding frenzy?

I'll be more specific; I don't want her demise to fall before May 2015. I'm sorry to say this, but IMHO the Fatchcroak will become one huge godawful national celebration of the myth, and that mythical 'Queenofhearts'-type wave of faux grief will either overlook the consequences of her neo-liberal agenda, or worse still use the state trappings as a bloody celebration of fucking over the working class.
Keep the woman alive, I say.

What? Like Brezhnev?

Tbf I don't think that anyone is going to be given access to the body,

To ensure that a wooden steak is drivin thru her heart and her head is separated from her body...

So expect the party to short lived

:(

I hope she doesn't die a week before the next election.

We wake up to see the tabloid headline -

THATCHER WINS 4TH ELECTION FOR TORIES.

This is a couple of days old, but still....

Her children can’t be arsed to look after her so thatcher has moved into the RITZ where she has been told by the owners she can stay till she dies. The only relsative who’d have her over xmas was her elderly niece and the only visitors are her saddo cronies like Bernard Ingham…no such thing as society eh.

I've just fallen for it. As I clicked I was actually disappointed that I have to go to Cambridge for two days tomorrow and I would miss out on being in South Yorkshire for the occasion.

I work on the assumption that this thread will drown in a sea of "FUCKING GET IN!" threads if it actually happens, therefore if it's just this thread, then she lingers on :D
Seeing it doesn't make me hope she croaked but I always have a look in case there's news of some painful illness she's going through that might bring a little cheer in these dark days of midwinter. Personally I hope she sticks around as long as possible because a) she's obviously in a lot of discomfort and b) I'm pretty sure I'll outlive her whatever so am unlikely to miss the party.

David Cameron has just sent his official letter to the Thatcher residence.

It starts, "I regret to inform you that due to recent events, you now have too many bedrooms..."

When I realised Margaret Thatcher was dead, I did a double fist pump and shouted, "Fucking brilliant!"

Everyone around me was disgusted, and looking back, I suppose it was out of order.

Especially as I was the first paramedic at the scene.

After Margaret Thatcher's funeral, you will be able to download Tony Blair's eulogy to her from the BBC iPlayer.

Just look for it under 'The Blair/Witch Project'.
