I didn't see all the cartoons but I heard that one of them was Mohammed with a bomb on his head (ie - saying that Islam is violent, full of terrorists etc). How exactly is this 'criticising Islam' and why is this crude imagery worth defending exactly? If is was an article criticising certain cultural practices in Islam, or whatever then I could understand people getting so het up over wanting to be free to do this.

But why are people getting so worked up over the right to print crude stereotypes of Muslims? Where's the intellect in that?

What about the fact the newspaper refused to ridicule Jesus a few years ago? Don't you understand the paper's agenda? Who is this rally aimed at exactly?

well, mohammed DID have a 9 year old wife and the islamic republic of iran recently executed two gay teenagers so he's spot on there.

Yep, but it shows you are a bit clueless and have little experience of islam. I've been out to some really good openly gay clubs in islamic countries. I've also been in certain states of the US were being openly gay would get me attacked. And in those states of that christian country it wouldn't do me much good complaining to the police.

Some Islamic countries have outdated laws and dodgy human rights records, as do some christian ones.

Go out and live. It might do you some good.
