Mandelson at Labour Conference: rather sinister looking.

"I'm a fighter, not a quitter!", "if I can come back, we can come back", etc.

Nauseating.

No. He is a self-obsessed, odious and dishonest little man who's "comebacks" are from lying to Parliament and to a bank over his privileged loan arrangements and placing himself above the law to influence immigration procedures to suit his own self interest.

His "comebacks" are a measure of how low the Labour party will stoop, not of his qualities. By suggesting that the Labour Party might make a recovery as he has done, he is suggesting that the country might also stoop as low as the Party has done.

Perhaps he is right.

It is all very well him saying that he would consider working for the tories if it meant working for the country, assuming the tories win.

I cannot imagine any circumstances where the tories would ask Mandelson to work for them!

Can you?

Mandelson is symptomatic of the endemic corruption within this government. He is a festering suppurating sore on the foreskin of society; a loathsome creature, amoral, self serving and deceitful.
Are you saying that society is a Goy?
The ennoblement of Mandelson did any more to debase the honours system than even the ennoblement of Martin, and that is saying something.
Come off it, the system has been fucked since it began.

Can't argue with any of that.

Mandy carries a lot of the blame for something I thought would never happen. He's made me despise Labour more than the Tories.

I wouldn't trust him if he told me water was wet and fire was hot.

He's a vile, opportunistic little crook with a weasel face I'd never get tired of kicking.

And yet you were his secret lover for years! :D

While I am trying to get Mandelson to be known as Adolph after seeing that speech I am reminded of another name that he was given many years ago.

I used to read Tribune the left wing Labour newspaper going back even before the days when Blair took over the party. 'Modernisation' was taking place, led by Brian Gould and others and there was much talk of getting rid of the 'flat cap' image. Nobody objected to this because it was just an image change. However when Blair came to the fore it was known to the writers of Tribune that there was a shadowy figure in the background who was orchestrating the changes in the party and creating something called 'The Project' They didn't know who it was and so they named him Bobby. Bobby was Mandelson the Kingmaker it later turned out.

I think that the name Bobby is much less suitable for Mandelson than Adolph.

Mandelson created a name in his speech that might stick however, "Boy George" for Osbourne.

I think that might have legs.
