Do you want to start a thread bout it, like the Andy Murray or Jeremy Corbyn threads?
And again, so fucking what if Rashford doesn't equal Owen's success. Even if he didn't he'd still be a damn fine player.
came 4th in FIFA world player. 4th in European player. first english european player winner since Keegan. rashford will come no where near that.
if danny welbeck was fit and playing regular, I would play him a head of rashford. welbeck has a much better england record.
So what? After he left Liverpool he was a shadow of the player he was in those early years. The fact that he ended up at Utd tells you all you need to know about his character.
You've got to be kidding me. If anyone it should be Zaha.
Sat too deep. Conceded the initiative from the beginning. Sloppy with the ball. Lethargic without it. This was a result the team sort of wished on themselves. Appalling.
Precisely why all these came together in a perfect storm especially after the results against Palace Chelsea and Liverpool is the the unanswered question.
Character? yeah, like he just applied for a job there. what about fergie's 'character'. afterall, he was the one that actually brought him to United.
Jesus, on a poor night is that really the level of punditry we have to put up with on this thread?[/QUOTE]
Are you fucking thick. He played for Liverpool for donkeys. As for Ferguson, he bought plenty of duds in amongst the diamonds.
And he did apply for jobs, did you not see the 32 page CV he published? Talk about cringeworthy.
there is ZERO evidence of this 'cracking' player people rave on about. he comes on scores every now and then. then gets a start and is rubbish. over-rated. would prefer to sell him and get someone else in
so fucking what? what the fuck has fergie buying duds got to do with it? u mention him playing for liverpool. are you fucking thick to ignore fergie didn't buy just a player. he brought a LIVERPOOL player as you point out. make a point about a liverpool player coming to United but ignore a man united manager was the one who wanted him.
I give up. Hope the hangover isn't too bad tomorrow
Quite right-you need somebody like Sanchez.
lets bump this thread when rashford does fuck all for england in Russia. we will see what you all make of your rashford love-in then. HA!!!!!!
Mourhino has knocked United out of the CL three times now. Once with Porto, once with Real Madrid and once with United.
That is clearly a joke going around forums around the country
what the fuck happened there ?
Yes, looked complacent and paid the price, didn't deserve anything
Sorry I missed the game what was the score?
before the game giggs commented it would be a comfortable win for United. How silly he must feel now.
Frustrating night then?
Is this stat accurate?
Never mind before the game, at half time Paul Scholes said that Sevilla were there for the taking and didn't have a goal in them!
well the goals were scored by a sub, so technically speaking that was somewhat, true....
In literally the most recent league game Man Utd played, Rashford started and scored two goals against one of their biggest rivals. It was also the first game he's started this year. And to pre-empt the obvious retort, I'm not saying this one game says everything, but it does rather neuter your suggestion he "gets a start and is rubbish".
Wouldnt take anything away from Sevilla's performance. Very organised, lovely calm triangular passing under pressure and always looked for oportunities to get the goal they needed. Nzonzi and Banega were superb in midfield. Sevilla showed the same qualities in the first leg so United supporters and commentators expecting it to be all United were deluded. Yes United were flat and uninspired but we have seen that a lot this season and they've still managed to get a goal and nick a win.
I also think UEFA need to review the winners of the Europa League going straight into the group stages , qualifiers would be a better level.
Just watched Mourinhos post match interview. He seemd to suggest that United getting beat at this stage is nothing unusual. Can any Man Utd supporters on here put a more postive light on his remarks?
Last seven years (you didn’t qualify at all twice so figures are only available for 5 of those seasons)...
Manager Sir Alex Ferguson
Exit Group Stage (Benfica/Basel)
Manager Sir Alex Ferguson
Exit Last 16 (Real Madrid)
Manager David Moyes
Exit Quarter Finals (Bayern Munich)
Manager Louis Van Gaal
Exit Group Stage (Wolfsburg/PSV)
Manager Jose Mourinho
Exit Last 16 (Seville)
Considering the financial outlay it’s a pathetic record, and he’s not wrong. He’s probably also wondering where and when these mythical, swashbuckling performances that Utd fans love to reminisce over actually occurred when even old bacon face himself gained a reputation for some horribly turgid displays in Europe over the years.
The current delusion among the fanbase with regards to Utd's footballing status is surely now being challenged. It’s unfortunate for you all that it’s taken the arch-realist Mourinho to introduce a dose of reality but your collective head has needed a wobble for some time now.
The glory days are over and fading fast. You’re the bloated old man of Europe. Corpulent, complacent, passive. It’s wonderful to see.
This post gets better by the game.
