Barclays Premier League
Portsmouth v Man City - South London Meet Up

For the South London fans, we have a regular meet up to watch the City games. We have been meeting up for several years in various locations around Herne Hill and Brixton and we have quite a crew.

We are currently meeting at

The Half Moon Pub
10, Half Moon Lane
Herne Hill.

All are welcome, friendly crowd and beer consumption. We usually outnumber the reds which is rare in the South!

:)

Cool. Used to go to the Commercial and Ganleys but have yet to hit the Half Moon.
Are you going to the Palace game? What's the outlook for away tickets or do we have to go in with the locals?

Yeah, we got moved out of the Commercial after it was poshed up, same with Ganleys!

Not checked the Palace situation, I shall look into matters.

Why are City playing Barcelona in a friendly tonight? strange time for a friendly

Over 94,000 there for an annual prestige friendly which the MEN says
Barca do not like to lose in this Joan Gamper Trophy game, having won 13 of the last 14 – and in the last three seasons they have beaten Inter Milan 5-0, Bayern Munich 4-0 and Boca Juniors 2-1.

Teams were:
BARCELONA: Pinto, Montoya (Alves ht), Fontas (Pique 64), Puyol (Bartra 31, Muniesa 64), Maxwell, Y. Toure (Jonathan ht), Pedro (Messi ht), Sergio (Thiago ht), Gudjohnsen (Keita ht), Jeffren (Gai 55), Bojan (Ibrahimovic ht).

CITY: Given, Onuoha, K. Toure (Ben Haim ht), Dunne, Zabaleta (Garrido 64), Barry (Etuhu 69),Weiss, Ireland, Wright-Phillips (Trippier, 81), Petrov, Tevez (Bellamy 64)

Nice to see Vlad get a start and we win our first trophy of the season:eek:

Oh right, so last night was real. We went to Barca and won and Burnley beat them in the Premiership.
Added bonus is that Dungannon Swifts are still top of the Irish Premier League too.
It'll all go wrong but it's nice today.

I watched this game last night. Full on competitive game. Not your normal friendly. I wanted to see how crap Gareth Barry was, but he was actually pretty good. The City goal came from nowhere. Constantly defending then one brilliant ball to put Petrov on goal. He took the chance brilliantly - swerved around the keeper from distance and at pace.

The only thing I care about this season is Villa doing a double over you lot :)

Uh huh but did you see the team we put out. It was our Academy/B team and 3, yep 3 players you'd expect to see in our starting team at the weekend started the game.

Durr.. I posted the teams above and the City team wasn't exactly strong with Vlad Weiss starting his first ever game and you brought on some big guns at half time.:D
