Man Utd....where they going to finish in the league?

Yeah, that's right. It's Fergie's good grace, unrivalled grip on the transfer market and astute, consistent media management that makes me warm to him. And Rio - who's not at all a vacuous gobshite who can't remember when he should be pissing in a jar rather than diuvet shopping - makes me want Utd to win even more.

Or maybe, just maybe, I'm hoping that bunch of shitehawk Utd cunts will win nothing worthwhile again. Couldn't think of a better send-off for the old port-faced tosser.

We'll finish top 3 for sure. Im fairly confident we could finish top. Really could do with having Heinze back to fitness. The only united player capable of making Roy Keane type 'interceptons';)

it's hatred like this that makes me love football....what a sh*t world it would be without depising one another's teams....

....go on though admit it, you like them ;)

Nope. Hatred's too strong a word by far.

Call it more contempt and disdain. I love the fact that - after years of shouting how they were the biggest club in the world - Man U are now comfortably outspent by a load of monied gimps from West London and consistently reduced to trying to kick lumps out of Arsenal, a far more attractive football side for the neutral.

What territory do Man Utd occupy in the football hemisphere these days? Apart from most impotent moaners perhaps? Or the biggest patsies in the transfer market? Or the team with the manager who really should have retired the most years ago?

Congrats on giving us all a final laugh Sir Alex. I doff my hat (and throw my teacup) in the direction of your claret-faced grimace. You're only reaping the fruits of all that arrogant bullshit from a few years back.

Biggest club in the world my arse...

Biggest and best supported by all accounts.....that'll do for me.....:)

Aye. What Drink said.

They are officially the most supported club in the world - therefore I think you could say they are one of the biggest clubs in the world.

Aye, because the more distant fairweather fans the better eh.

:D

Something tells me that, give it a few more years of similar results and flops in Europe, that any 'loyalty' to Utd will be shortlived.

That was all the other supporters going to have a laugh at Utd's expense...

;)

Why am I bitter? I'm just taking the piss - you're all getting defensive and making some spurious claims about why they're the 'biggest' club in the world.

I beleive you bought that up:

Same here. Chelsea may be cunts, but at least they're not labouring under the misapprehension that they're the world's biggest club, regardless of results and expenditure.

Not the Man U fans. ;)

I think you'll find it was Ferguson who brought that up, hence it's perfect ground for pisstaking.

Still, it's alright. You've got Alan Smith in reserve...

hang on - there is nothing more ridiculous than a football club willy-waving - but i feel that someone is being pretty ridiculous here - i believe that manchester poo-nited as they are no doubt hilariously referred to by the ABU brigade command the biggest average attendences of any club, certainly in europe, they also, until they got bumburgled by an american businessman were the richest club in the world.

pretty good claim to being the biggest club in the world.

Surely barca's attendances, given that the capacity of the nou camp is around 120,000, and it's difficult to get tickets for first team games, must be higher than man u's?

I'm liking Vidic. I think Ferdinand can live up to his rep with a quality partner and for the first time in ages, we've got someone who seems really good with him. I'm still not sure I'm convinced by the defensive abilities of a central midfield of Scholes and Carrick, though, so they might need to be good as things progress. Add Van der Sar, Neville and Heinze (if he can get fit and stay fit) and it looks a solid defence.

Going forward, we look dangerous, creating chances and putting them away enough to win games and compete with Chelsea and anyone else who's around come the end of the season.

A lot will depend on whether Fergie goes for a midfielder in January, I reckon and on whether we can keep our attacking threats - perhaps Giggs and Saha especially (assuming Rooney is a given) - fit... both those will miss tomorrow's game and have a patchy history, but are playing great when they're fit so far.

It's got potential and I feel better about this United side than most of the others since... oh, say Beckham left.

I'm not sure Chelsea will slip up much, but I reckon we can win it...

AFAIK its closer to the 100k mark - and many games are a long way from selling out - but you are right in that it is there or there about to uniteds - i have a feeling united shaded it last season tho

My point is that it is not *that* ridiculous to claim that man utd, river plate, real madrid, barcelona or hull are the biggest clubs in the world - its certainly very debatable and can be argued (rather boringly) all day long - i just think perhaps some peoples hatred of that simply horrid man and manchester poo-nited(!) in general kinda clouds their opinion.

Fair dos - but quite a few people I know who have been to barca say on holiday and tried to get tickets, have found it impossible and ended up having to go to a reserve game, which in itself had a pretty good attendance.
