Man Utd vs Barcelona (Barca Bricking it?)

i think it is more to do with yours and a few other posters track record of using every single chance to attack united and ronaldo, sometimes i think it is you who is myopic in your dislike of united to be honest

@ taranua

no it's coz he's the only player in the prem that dives, and he never gets fouled always dives. he's a whinger a whiner and goes missing in EVERY big game, he's shit, Utd are shit. blah blah blah blah blah

Do you disagree with the jist of what I'm saying on this thread though:

1) That Utd, for all their talk of a flowing attacking sife (the best ever?) have played very cagily in away European ties this year. Some would say even more conservatively than Liverpool and even (hoc spit) Chelsea
2) Ronaldo's performances on the biggest stage aren't a patch on his Premier League form.

ET: Why's IS going on about a strawman than I've not even come close to mentioning on this thread? Weirdo whingealot character him.

united have been more cagey in europe this season when playing away, but not as badly as you are making out, and defo nowhere near as boring as liverpool or chelsea especially chelsea, i think it is because there is so much desire/pressure to win the CL this season, his performances in europe have been ok too as he is the top scorer plus the fact that the overall standard of teams is probably higher than those he plays against most weeks in the PL.

not sure what you meant in your last point

In fairness to tarannau, he's not wrong. In the Prem there's no doubt that Ronaldo is already one of the best players ever to grace a football pitch. He's a bit of a wanker, but he's truly an amazing player. In Europe, however, he's been a little muted at times.

Same is true of Utd. Last night was a great game for a neutral, but I can't imagine it was much fun for Utd fans. They pissed on you, and you were lucky to hold on.

That said, on their day Utd play some amazing football, bettered only by Arsenal, and thoroughly deserve to win the CL this year.

do me a favour

I didn't say he wasn't good, did I? I just said compared to his Prem form he's been a little muted, which he has. That doesn't mean he hasn't done well, or scored goals.

Because you defended well.

Bollocks - does anyone else have a mental picture of posters they'never met - that is definitely not how I imagine WoW when I'm reading one of his posts

There's picture of WoW all over the place. In fairness, he looks nothing like Puyol... a lot like Campo.

United played a tactical game last night. Ferguson said at the press conference he was gonna play the team the same way he did in the 1st leg. He knew Barca had a lot of talented players despite their poor form and gave them a false sense of security by giving them loads of possession, during which scholes caught them out at one stage and took advantage. Yeah they rode their luck towards the end, but you can't win every match(especially in europe) 3 or 4-0. They defended well enough and played the game tactically very well. Some fans don't seem to spot the tactical side of the game going on. Barca had loads of posession but simply weren't good enough. You don't get through just by playing attacking football...barca have learned that the hard way.

they hardly "pissed on" us!

and if scoring 7 goals in 10-12 games (for a winger) is muted well i'd hate to play against someone playing well (although yes, he was quiet in comparison in the Barce games)
Is it not the mark of a quality player that he can do very little then pop up with a goal ( ala roma)

Yeah, you're right!

good to see some non utd fans can see straight

So, who is going to be going ? Obv not me cos I dont support any of the finalists

Apparentl;y all the flights are already fully booked to moscow

visas = arm/ leg ( if you have have enought time to get one - but I know a place that can do them in 4 days for £75 quid )

Hotels in Moscow are shocking expensive

££££££

We'll be there come what may!! We're ST holders just had it confirmed that we've been successful in the ballot for tickets. BUT flights are £900 for a day-trip (not including visas - another £95, or £190 if you want them done in a hurry!!)

We've booked a ferry to Calais on the Saturday before the final and it's be drive, drive, drive all the way to Moscow (and all the way back again), probably via Estonia to avoid having to get another visa for Belarus.

TBH, I can't see how the Russians are going to process 40,000-plus visa applications in a couple of weeks, bearing in mind that we will probably have to produce our passports to pick up our tickets from Old Trafford, and the Russian visa section will be closed for 3 days between now and the final for public holidays!! There's some talk of a shortened process, but I'll believe it when I see it, and when I've got my ticket and visa in my sweaty plam!

Either UEFA should switch the final to Wembley, or the Russians should waive visa requirements.

I would like to say I'm shocked by the lack of forward planning but, sadly, I'm not. It's par for the course with the FA and UEFA. As usual, it's the hard-core fans who lose our.

Happie Chappie
