Man Utd show "spirit of 99"

I'm not going to gloat. I am happy enough with the fact that last night you were bound to be gutted.

No more needs to be said.

Chelsea will be the next English team to win the Champions League. ;)

Bollocks.

City haven't scored a goal at home since New Year's Day.

True - even Villa managed to beat them and keep a clean sheet last week. I can't see ManUre fucking up the Premiership when 5 points ahead. However, if they did lose to Citeh and Chelsea won, that'd be some match next Wednesday.

I agree, Mourinho looks likely to leave in the summer and with him half the team no doubt.

On the otherhand you clearly think Liverpool will beat Milan, no hope. You think they are going to let youse comeback from the dead like last time?

I used to be a Wimbledon fan - largely because and I played at school in the same team as two Dons and they're very local. Understandably I'm a bit torn for a side now

AFC surely?

At least we had the balls to do it, no sign of a comeback from carrick et al last night, was there?

Liverpool are a hell of a lot better than they were last time and granted so are Milan. But they are a team of old men (minus Kaka).
We won't over awed by the occation and Djimi Troure dosen't play for us, so it's all good.

Like Ancelotti said Man Utd are a better team than Liverpool but youse pose a threat cause of your physical strength. If Milan can get the ball down on the deack (and I think they can) youse lot are fucked!

Still got a better chance than some.

2 years older and without Shevchenko and Crespo while we have improved in a lot of areas.

Then don't let them play the ball on the ground, simple as.
The boy Kaka (even if he is three years older than me) is the linch pin, same as Stevie G, get him covered and the games dead.

If they play like they did in the first half against us they will slaughter youse, then again they did pretty much that in 2005 and youse jammed back. I can't see them making that mistake again!

actually it's alot more complex than Kaka, you stick men on him and you open up space for Seedorf running from deep.

The only way youse can beat Milan is if youse reenact the 'Crazy Gangs' defeat of youse in '88.

It will be a tight game, definatly.
Or saying that, especailly wirth Rafa, he could go against the grain and go out all attack.
Either way we can do it.

LOL I can't even begin to imagine what all out attack would look like with this Liverpool team, I'm guessing it would make the war in Kosovo look like a ground operation.

You're only as good as your last game and a Milan victory, while more likely than a Liverpool triumph, is by no means a given.

I wouldn't say their chances are any greater than 60-40.

yeah there is also the fact that Milan played an absolute blinder against us in the first half, the equivalent of our first half against Roma. I think in the disappointment I've been focussing on our weaknesses and faults and overlooked that it was far from an average performance by Milan. Still if Milan can bring it like that in the final Liverpool are fucked!

Salford = United, surely?

Most definitely not, in these cases at least. Not sure of the reasons why, but an old Brixton pub used to play host to a huge crew of London-based Man City supporters. The pub's now poncified, but there's generally more than a few Manc refugees amongst the pubs.

Why?
It's the bloody champions league final not some fucking away game at the end of the season.
So far this season, Liverpool have beat both Barcelona and Chelsea, cruised past PSV and made the group stages look like a bunch of pre-season friendlies.
If it were Man U in our position now the media and the world in general would have a hard over a possible United win.
But because it's the scouse theives everyone goes all defeatist.
Benitez has won two cups in two years at Liverpool, he's been in four finals and some how, still, Mourinho, Fergie and Wenger are some how better than him.
The power of the team comes from the manager, thats why Raneri was sacked from Chelsea, so why can't Liverpool win?

Ah the delusions and mealy-mouthed analysis of armchair Utd fans. Milan looked really good last night because Man U were so piss poor. Fergie fucked it tactically and I'd wager Benitez won't do the same, nor will Liverpool fold so easily.

It's great isn't it. Every time he opens his mouth the muppet seems more ignorant about football.

:D

Still, I very much enjoyed it when Wimbledon shrugged 'pool aside all those years ago.

I already gave my thoughts on why Man Utd were piss poor against Milan and in truth it had fuck all to do with tactics, we just didn't have the midfield capable of containing them last night, simple as that. And if you think Fergie fucked it up tactically then why don't you explain how and why?

It was a loose analogy as to how youse won't stand a chance if youse let the ball skirt along the floor. If youse have any hope of winning it with Milan playing like they did last night, youse will have to play a very physical high pressure game.

And I dunno if you watched Tuesdays game but both youse and Chelsea hardly played beautiful football, infact I don't think Liverpool have the players capable of doing so.
