Man Parfum.

Some to try when you next go to the men's fragrances counter. Allure and Allure Sport are nice, well OK on me. The Sport has a nice tart citrus-y fresh smell to it. I also like Marc Jacobs. You can never try on more than two at a time. One squirt on each hand, sniff when it's freshly applied and also half an hour later to see how it settles.

Embarrassingly, I've worn Cool Water since I was 14. Still haven't found anything I prefer though. Luckily, it's widely liked.

Are you some kind of life stalker? Cool Water has been my favourite from about the same age...I rarely, if ever wear smellys these days but Cool Water or Eternity for Men (applied VERY sparingly) are my two faves...

I have tried loads, I still can't pick just one.

And you should spray them onto the little cards first, not yourself!

Although they do smell different once they are on your skin.

i've got a bottle of the Paul Smith

and I had a bottle of Miyake.

I just don't really know what I'm supposed to do with it, to be honest.

There's something inherently..... "cunty" about the whole thing :o

There is a bit.

:hmm:

I don't really mind though. I am a bit of a cunt.

If you like JPG, perhaps something like this?

Hugo_Boss_Boss_In_Motion_For_Men_EDT_90ml_spray.jpg

i go between issey miyake and john varvatos vintage - which is a bit more 'manly'. as man perfumes go.

i'll try out the jpg though....

My husband wears Joop and Paco Rabanne.

I used to love Dunhill on one of my exes, but bought it for another b/f and it smelt rank on him. I haven't got my husband to try it out yet..

Aqua De Gio (very nice but hard to get at the moment)
Paco Rabanne EAU Pour Homme (The limited edition one in a silvery/whiteish box, This is the ONLY PR you should ever wear IMO).
Paul Smith Extreme or Original
Boss Soul
D + G light blue (also difficult to get at the moment)
CK Eternity
Burberry Touch
Lacoste Red
Clinique Happy
Issey Miyake (A bit overdone but if you go with the Blue version you cant go wrong).

Big no no's are: As mentioned any of the old Paco Rabannes, CK One, Cool Waters, Joop original (the Jump is ok though), D+G original. These have all been done to death over the past 10 years by blokes and tend to remind people of certain situations they've been in which they would rather forget.

Can you tell I used to work at a perfume counter?

Someone bought me the Prada cologne for Xmas. It comes with two spare bottles to back up the main odoriser ostensibly to cater for travel. Personally I think it's a cheapskate move to reduce the amount of cologne for your bunce.

you should smell of wood shavings and gunpowder, with a dash of lemon and a hint of cigar smoke. Otherwise you have failed as a man

I quite fancy getting myself a new man parfum.

I have Issey Miyake and Jean Paul Gaultier le Male, and some Gucci one that I don't wear very often, because it is a bit strong.

I quite like the Issey Miyake and JPG, they both smell fresh and a bit floral.

Anybody got any recommendations?

A man who likes to smell of something other than sweat and stale cooking - how marvellous, a bit like a unicorn, I don't know one but its nice to know they're out there,

as you were.

:D
