So far he has been charged with terrorism and had he been a chef or some such like with due cause to carry I'm sure there would have been a stand down by now. Not that I'm an apologist for the old bill or anything. If we can't speculate furiously when there is an absence of hard facts when can we. Currently I've got him down as a pathetic 'lone wolf' damp firework soaked in foggy drizzle on a dull April Thursday. I doubt somehow there will be a movie made of this come the final reckoning.

TBH I'm holding fire on the quality of that info until we know more. It could have been genuine intel or someone with a grudge tipping them off in the first place and then telling them he was carrying knives. What was he going to do with a bagful of knives anyway? Meet a gang of accomplices? Frankly I'd find a man brandishing one or two knives far scarier.
