I like soreen, I got given three soreens the other day. I eat them raw, don't even slice it. Just gnaw it like a dog.
 
I'm going to attempt my first cold tea cake,which is in the same area as malt loaf, very soon. I'm quite excited.
 
It's not so much the taste as the texture that makes it irresistible. It's kind of .... claggy. Sticky and gooey but slightly firmer round the edges. It taste good too, kind of rich dried fruity and treacley. I think you should get some. It's 90% fat free, but laden with sugar :D

10% fat is quite a lot!

(goes well with cheese as well, btw. wensleydale especially)
 
Lincolnshire Plum Bread, with thick butter slices, cheese and Marmite. There are some who miss out the Marmite, but I think it works rather well. I must get my mother's recipe before she dies. (Not that she might any time soon, but I want to make sure the recipe continues...well you know what I mean)
 
God it's fucking minging, I occasionally find it dumpster diving and it's one of those things I feel i should like, but it's just crap. That grotty tangy aftertaste, and its stupid texture where the sides are all smooth, it looks like it's been pressed by someone losing it down the back of the sofa and sitting on it for 2 months.

I think it's topped only by those white round shiny macaroon kinda things in the "looks nice but tastes like shit" league. Urgggg. Fruit cake all the way...
