Magazine title?

Luther Bollocks has loads to say about this. Unfortunately, he prefers to send me daft PMs. Soon, I hope, he'll post his shite here, instead.

One more suggestion for the mag's title: Attica & The Islamophile Rabbi

I don't know about Luther B, but I'm not an islamophile, I'm a phobophobe.

Not sure what you're talkin' 'bout, kyser_soze
'twas i who quickly cobbled together those 2 example frontpages for 'no statesmen' because consensus of opinion from those I recognise as having anarchist ideology on this thread preferred that title best.

Yes, what is 'that', Attica - not sure I understand your vision here - your project has communist ideology at it's roots? I thought you were an anarchist. Can you explain further

:o

Whoops - I thought that was an example of an existing marxanarc title that's already published, not a rather groovy mock up that I've nicked for my phone's wallpaper...

I don't think anyone's interested in the content of our private messages, and I don't have any desire to repost them in the public forum, but feel free to do so, if you think it's relevant.

I'm not an islamophile either - i'm interested in all human culture - personal, political, social, philosophical, and yes even the spiritual - there's probably a word (many words) to describe that collection of interests.

So, um, this new mag is not just the organ of Attica the Fox-Hugger and Parking Meter-Smasher, but also of Luther B the Islamophile.

This does not bode well.

OK, some new suggestions for names...

  • Chalk & Cheese
  • Shariah & Bakunin
  • No Gods, No Masters - Except Allah & the Caliph
  • Kill 'em! [Subtitle: Death to Apostates from the Holy Brotherhood of Islamo-Narchism]
  • Jihad on Parking Meters
  • Jihad on Fox-Hunters

You are getting rather desperate and wierd now...

Who are your target readership?

As well as Luthers brief list....

I'm interested in those with memory of fighting fascism (WW2 and after, up to and including 1981), and those who lived through the struggles of the
1960's, 70, 80's, who are now thinking about the future politically.

And my final target group is those who lived through the 1990s to today, and how they have economically experienced and coped with this period. In short, the new economic conditions and political organisation grounded in our times which builds for the future.

All this will be done with an open mind, and nothing (well you know) is discounted in advance... I think we are against those who think they know the answer in advance and adopt a programme that was written in different economic and poltical times.

In your case, surely Left Out is the only appropriate title?

Paul - seen as you were so sceptical of this magazine happening, will you eat very humble pie when it does and pisses all over your pathetic effort?

Seeing as I don't, and never have published a magazine, no.

So ummmm...that'd be 'everyone born between 1920 and 1990' then...

Is there a niche for a new anarchist mag over here or has Libcom now saturated the market with their website . You can pretty much find everything that you wish to know about anarchism there and what anarchists should be doing.

Liar liar pants on fire... but if you seriously are 'feigning ignorance' lets just keep it as follows... that we both know what we are on about here...:p

Weird, and I'm much less weird than you are, Brig.

I hope you get yourself a decent subeditor or your mag is just going to be a fuckin' embarrassment.

Anyway, have you decided on a name yet or is it just going to be the Mag With No Name?

The online edition and pdf are free (but you would have to have access to the internet to be able to read it).

I don't know whether there'll be a print version as yet -- haven't finished costing that out, and I think it's not for me to make solo decisions on publishing frequency - there are other factors to consider, such as contributors from across the spectrum of activism and that includes everyone, and I mean everyone.

How about 'mistaken identity', 'barking up the wrong tree', or this one i prefer - 'love humanity, hate the state we're in'?

a'right - I'll see if Grandma Blissett can act as sub-editor after she's written us an article on Grey Protestors.

And 'lived through' as well - I had no idea the 90s were some trial I 'lived through'...
No Temporary Autonomous Zoning then? What a relief!

Right now, I'm not impressed at Attica's 'Piss on everone else but himself' attitude, and i.m.o. there was no need to continue on a past personal spat by gloating at Mr.Marsh, and others here -- not sure what 'game' he's playing -- watching him 'order' laptop to engage with this project ...going through the playground routine of 'my mag's better than your mag', etc - what are you up to, Attica? Speech and writing are two types of direct action, so I'm wondering what type of direct result you wanted to bring about through your indulgence in this playground spiel.

I have never published a magazine in my life. Nor have I edited one. If you think you know differently, please put the evidence in the public domain.

CWF publish a NEWSLETTER, yes?

The group publishes a newspaper, a magazine, various leaflets, as well as running a website.

Note the key words "the group".

Readers may wish to draw their own conclusions as to whether Attica's expulsion from said group has brought about his sudden desire to add another magazine to the already voluminous number of anarchist publications out there.

Sadly big ego's are rarely accompanied by big brains.....
