:)
Can I have two biscuits seeing as not only have I never had a virus in 15 years or so of PC use, I have rarely ever had any AV s/ware installed and I currently run WinXP in admin mode :p :D

Please don't turn this into a Mac vs PC bunfight.

I'll leave that to you and jaed... :p

However, anyone who believes their OS is completely secure is deluding themselves, whatever they use.

Oy. There's been none of that going on in this thread because we've now grown as human beings and have learnt to repsect each other's choices and embrace alternate OS's like long lost friends. Possibly.

Well, indeed.

My ZX Spectrum never had a virus. I believe that this is due to the genius of Sir Clive Sinclair.
Things never really got moving in the Palm virus department either, despite the best efforts of the anti-virus vendors.

When you think about it, the Spectrum shits all over PCs & Macs. Everything fitted in 16K too. I also miss the listening to the tape recorded software as it loaded up. Those were the days ... :(

I think the fundamental problem is that neither PCs or Macs are ideal as utilitarian devices for the majority of users. I rarely ever install new software myself. One day in the dim distant future I may find the motivation to write my own interface for the things I use most - maybe I'll be forced to get off my arse as I start using my PC as a media server which will be accessible from various qualities of monitor in up to 6 rooms....

Was that the one where you could get the ball bouncing up and down on a player's head for as long as you like?

Yep.

And the players used to run around waving their arms when they scored... and the animation didn't always cancel properly... so you'd sometimes have a player running down the wing, celebrating, even though no goal had been scord for ages. Quality... :D
