MacLeish resigns as Scotland manager

NUFC have always been nearly men; under-achievers for all their talk of glory
Oh, come on! The 1969 Inter City Fairs Cup is a marvellous achievement to bask in :D

I wouldn't go that far. He's just a bit of mediocre manager.

What does being an NUFC fan have to do with it?

bleats about bleeding black & white and was always angling for the NUFC job/ trying to get his wages at brum raised by default.

I know. That makes Bruce quite a poshie, doesn't it?

Corbridge IIRC

But its close enough.

Hexham posh ? - better ask Firks 'bout that - I would not like to go on a friday night out in Hex.

never.

I went to Hexham on a Friday night once and it was pretty scary. This was the 80's too, like.

ETA: though not half as scary as Sunderland.

How about King Kenny?

Too busy with his media career I suppose... and his spell at Celtic didn't go too well.

Although I loathe Rangers -- living in Glasgow and the West of Scotland, I've seen enough of their supporters to know that they ain't a pretty club -- I was nonetheless pleased to hear that Big Eck is in charge at Blues. However my one concern is that the Blues/Villa derby might take on an even more repellent dimension. Am i right in thinking that Alex McLeish (now at Blues) managed Rangers at the same time that Martin O'Neill (now V*lla) took charge at Celtic?

I'd hate there to be a religious sectarian element to dilute the pure footballing animosity. We should never loathe each other because petty religious distinctions, over cultural differences or imperial ethno-political conflicts... the colour of your shirt should be more than enough.... sotv

Dont you worry about Scotland you Englander Schweinhunds:D

You'll soon be singing the praises of Big Alan Shearer as England coach.

As an NUFC fan, I have nothing but contempt for the mealy mouthjed shitbag Bruce .

Bruce is teh scum

No he is not. He's lovely! He came to our house to visit my hubby and the kids. And brought a signed football and shirt.

I've seen it argued that McLeish isn't all that anyway - starts fucking up after a year or so in charge of anyone. This from fans of Motherwell and Hibs who should know.

I've heard that and when it was announced that he would become Scotland manager, I had my doubts. He had a bit of a bumpy time at Rangers towards the end. I can recall the Ibrox faithful calling for his heid.
