If you want the occasional pure windows experience (for gaming for instance), then install a Bootcamp partition and you can boot into Windows mode (your mac volumes are protected). This isn't emulated.
Crispy knows a way to then use Parallels to access this same partition.
The Eve client runs pretty good on the Mac side (through Wine I think) but especially good under Bootcamp. But you'll have to give up some precious disk space.

I installed Parallels 4 and it immediately asks if I want to use my Bootcamp partition, 10 mins later there it is. Impressive, though you can't pause/suspend it.

It can become a little addictive; I was very happy with my unibody MBP, then ended up wanting/getting a wireless keyboard and mouse, m-stand and most recently a 24” apple cinema display!Thanks everybody.
After one week as a Mac user I am pleased to say, on record, that it's fucking ace. Really cool little machine. I am very happy I made the switch.

you have to change an advanced setting. be careful to unsuspend and shut down parallels before rebooting natively, or you could break things.
