you poor sod - i've mainly worked in pc places where they want to set up an in-house pubs department (i 'do' print graphics) but the IT poop themsleves when i mention the option of a mac.
And it understandable - most IT services are trained to use what are the majority of computers in most offices. Thats eminently sensible if you want to find work. And yep, most support and advice available is going to be for the systems that dominate the market as well - simply becsue more people know and work with those systems. It does piss me of though when they make up a load of old tommy rot (from 'IT consultants' that the organisation I worked for used) about the very idea of getting a mac rather than just be honest and say 'look this is a different computer system used by less than 10% of the population so we cannot guarantee being able to provide the support for this platform - its a factor you should consider when making a decision'. Then again it may be just that I am embittered about IT types...
