If your Mini runs in the Classic environment, then it's certainly possible you could run a rock solid old skool Newscutter system, but be aware of the 2 gig file size limit. Cheap way to secure yourself a basic Avid for OMFI work.

I never did big OMFIs anyway, print to tape and an audio OMFI for the dub. Sometimes I make a quicktime file but thats obviously not part of the 2gb limit.
