I've come to the conclusion that its either really really clever, or just enjoyable pants. :)

I think it's enjoyable pants. Best appreciated stoned.

Why isn't there an enjoyable pants option?

I get the impression that those that love it will have those that don't watching episodes 23-25 just out of their sheer excitement ;)

I'm getting pissed off with it now actually ! First they have this mystery monster which it appears they had a perfect opportunity to show tonight but didn't  then they have these weird people in suits watching the survivors ( or it's all in the blokes head ) , and I don't actually care enough to keep watching to find out whats happening on the island because they can't be arsed to go into it in any depth ( and that bloke with the kid is pissing me off too ) .

The only charaters I'm liking at the moment are the druggie and the fat bloke and maybe the bloke from iraq , all the others are fucking dull

edit - I want to change my vote to Mediocre

I don't know about TV in the UK, but here in Australia there's been so many "reality" programs (Big Brother, The Mole, The Amazing Race, Australian Idol, the X-Factor, The Block etc) and dodgy soaps like Neighbours and Home and Away, and then there's the whole Law and Order flood of programs that seem to be on every night, as well as commercials parading as info-tainment, that a series like Lost, whether it's crap or not, is a nice change. It's like Gilligan's Island with a dark side. For me, it's a move in the right direction - and is a whole lot better than the truly crap programs that usually get made.

Crap, but surprisingly addictive. Agree with Agent Sparrow that Charlie's rockband junkie past is the worst of the back stories. Sawyer is slowing turning into my favourite character simply because he's got different sides and is less predictable. Jack and Kate are bland, bland, bland. What the hell is Syid (sp?) seeing in Shannon, that's an unexpected relationship if it develops. I want to learn about Hurley, so far they've just had him as the fat bloke for comedy. We're up to episode 15 on downloads, knocking out one or two a night...

Sawyer is definately the best, I agree about Jack but disagree about Kate. I think her backstory is really interesting.

That comes - don't want to spoil, but I'm still not quite sure about his story - its a bit of a link (I won't say who or what it links him to) so while I actually wasn't so fond of the actual story, its definately got certain merits to it.

I take it you've seen the first bit about Locke? That in my mind was a bit of a corker! :)

Wait a second does this just keep going with the whole back story thing for fuck loads of episodes  If it does the program sounds more crap than I allready think it is now ! Shame really because I really liked the first 2 episodes :(

Yep, but some are better than others. And some are more related to the current scenario than others.

As I said, I definately think its a "sum is better than its parts" thing.

'Don't tell me what I can't do!' ;)

Favorite episode so far (I've only seen 4 though)

And they keep building on each other and on events occuring on the island.

I thought last nights episode was alright actually. If only there was a third option....

I wouldn't mind it but they implied that Lock saw the "thing" but then they don't show it and he denies seing it ! They can build the tension as much as they like but if they don't have peole talking about it or give some kind of clue about what the thing is , then I'm not going to bother watching !

[Slaps forehead!] How could I forget John Locke?! He's turning into the real star of the show, certainly has everyone trusting him a lot. Boone especially seemed very forgiving of his 'little situation' that Locke put him in around episode 12, hope they return to that.

More scenes of Locke smiling strangely and fewer song montage sequences and I might just change my vote to 'not crap'...

It has been pretty tedious for the most part - the only thing keeping me interested is the strangeness of the situation. I keep hoping for more wierdness.

None of the characters interest me. The back stories are bland cliches. The "plot" is non-existent.

If I had the whole of the series on DVD I'd be fast forwarding to the good bits - if there are any.

By the end of yesterday's episode though, I don't think I even particularly cared what the monster looks like any more. Only the appearance of that mystery person near the end is going to keep me watching next week. And I bet we don;t find out anything about him either!

Its shite,shite and shite

Just shite ffs, get a grip you guys. About as believeable as ...erm something totally unbelieveable.
If you guys think aircrashes are anything like that, ffs sake.
Hey I know, how about a reality aircrash show, then compare the two.
I know I know its not supposed to be real its just entertainment.
Oh shit, I hate almost all TV anyway why get upset about this regular tv shite? think it the hype that really pisses me off.
I`m off to have a car crash

thoroughly enjoyed the first two, though the 'monster' storyline is irritating - that said, episodes 3 & 4 have been rather dull - they'll need to pull their socks up in episodes 5 & 6, or that'll be my lot.

Problem with Lost is that its viewers are used to dumb down garbage.

Thats not true ! I've been watching it and I don't like "dumbed down garbage" I just think it's a promising idea that so far has failed to work due to poor plot and what seems to me to be charaterisation based on "before the crash" lives when these people are clearly going to be suffering some post crash trauma so they probably won't function like they did , which from what I've seen isn't the case so it's another good aspect of the idea thats been missed !
