Lord Watson pleads guilty to fire raising and endangering life!

Like Prince Kropotkin?
No. "Prince" Kropotkin comes into the same category as Tony Benn. People who see the light and renounce their titles.

Watson travelled the opposite direction.

Interesting development. The Daily Record is pushing for the Labour candidate in the Cathcart by election to be Charan Singh the Curry king. This has all the hallmarks of being a move by McConnell to get another of his mates into Hollyrood and give the scottish parliament its first asian msp.

16 months. I can't help wondering if a working class kid would have got 16 months for trying to burn down a hotel full of posh people. I think the charge of attempted homicide (as it is called here) might have been more likely.

I heard the sob stories of Lord Firestarter's mates saying he'd had everything taken away from him; there was no lower he could go. He should try being a convicted firestarter without a peerage and influential friends, then.

Twat.

Passing sentence, Sheriff Kathrine Mackie said a social enquiry assessment had concluded there was a significant risk of Watson re-offending.

How on earth does somebody so clearly unstable get to be an MSP and a Life Peer.

The the thing is. He's going to have to do his time in BAR-L.
He's a B cat prisoner.
The Daily record was saying he could, in time, be moved to Low Moss.
Not possible. There are rules that prevent a fire raiser from going in to a CAT C or D prison.
Just in case he's not got it out of system.
So it's the full sentence in the Bar.

Pun intended.

Oh if only he'd had a decent brief ... or a course on defending himself from someone with a great record of success ... ;)
HaHaHaHa!!! :D :D
'Tis all very well doing that shit in a district court when legal aid is denied you.
(because there is no likelihood of a custodial sentence)
You can get away with a lot more in a district court and the jp's will give you a lot more leeway.

I think his "social enquiry report" fucked him.
My Lawyer used to say to me when he received the report for my cases that the hard work had already been done. All he had to do was let the judge read it. :p
