ooh I've got the same sake set as you Shippy :D

Shippy and myself discussed this at the time. It's horrible stuff, worse than Ozenki despite coming from Japan. I found an old box the other day as I was throwing stuff out. It seems this is made just for the UK market.

If you go direct to wing yip (shippy tells me you can't just order it) you can get large amounts of the good stuff quite cheap.

Maybe I should bring some of the good stuff.

oh i'd deffo go get sawanotsuru from waitrose (cheaper than wing yip) if anyone was up for this

it is indeed far better than the hakutsuru (mouthwash)

and the sake set isn't realted to the brand of sake i tend to get

I meant the sake flask and cups, not the sake itself. The actual bottle of sake is the one they usually have in supermarkets - yeah it's a bit blah.

I went to a sake tasting a couple of years ago and it's amazing how much difference there is between them. We even had a sparkling sake, but that was a bit wrong.

It's like wine.

I hate the cloudy stuff. Very much like wine I just like it super dry.

My father in law always buys me some super good stuff when I visit because he heard I like a drink now and then. It might be a bit wasted on me though.

I had sake once & it was fucking rank. I don't like white wine though, so it wasn't a surprise.

It doesn't taste like white wine. I'm guessing you had some shit stuff from the supermarket. It really is a fine drink when it's good.

Wow what a derailment.

No, it was provided by Mitsubishi at a VIP afterparty (don't ya know!), so I supect it was good stuff. I've still got the wooden cup thing somewhere.

Tasked rank to me anyway.

Oh la di da. Ok I guess you just don't like it then. I think it's very nice with fish.

Sparkling sake: what the fuck?

I think it was made for the Formula 1 or something, more for the ability to spray it about like a bottle of champagne rather than for taste. It was a bit weird.

I really like some of the cloudy stuff myself.
