Not that bad considering the tube kept adding bits of lines on as the day went on - so a bit of fancy foot work - e.g Euston - Paddington by the functioning Victoria and Bakerloo.
Fair play to the extra buses out (with drivers working rest days) , LUL managers all over the place answering millions of questions on routing with politeness and courtesy , bus marshalls at Paddington and the most enormous but well organized taxi queue I have ever seen at the latter place - reminded me of the famous 1945 picture of holiday makers lining right down Eastbourne terrace for trains away on holidays.
Cab drivers must have really raked it in !
the amount of people walking everywher reminded me of Gustav Dore prints of the clerks walking to work in the city (before tubes and buses really developed)
in the words of Ed Murrow - "London can take it" (for while anyway)
