Londoners - are you being inconvenienced by the tube strike?

After we've moved to Mars, should we donate the Tube to deprived regions?

Derby deserves the Bakerloo line, at least.

Not at all. Move electrons around in the morning, catch the bus to appointment in the afternoon.

nope, I'm on my bike - though i have the choice to work at home for the next three days...but i don't want to miss out on my cycling!!! my way to and from work are the highlights of my daily routine!!;)

So there is a tube strike is there?

We are looking at a further substantial cut in both routes and services here, whilst the local MD of First has recently retired, just ahead of a government enquiry into a possible illegal monopoly, fare setting and other malpractice.

Great!

Hopefully gobbing at them (anything else would be secondary picketing, surely).

Is Cobbles always such a reactionary tool? I've not been around these parts for a while but s/he seems to be some kind of high blood pressure village idiot.

That's a wonderful idea - I think the Bakerloo Line would be very happy there

:D

Forgive me if I'm not overjoyed at the prospect of a difficult journey home after a night shift.

And you can't compare London with other cities - it's a lot bigger and more crowded and harder to get around when the Tube is out. If you want better public transport, don't live in the provinces. :p

Well, I got the 5.43 Thameslink from Streatham Common to Kentish Town this morning, no problems at all.

Of course I'm at work three hours earlier than usual but that mean I'll go home at lunchtime

Got up, couldn't be arsed to rush around so had breakfast at home for the first time ever. Wandered down to get the bus, took 35 mins, was in work early!! :D

I drive straight through Central London to work most days. Left at 6 as usual, there was a little more traffic than normal, but that was it.

I took my merry time and was 90 minutes late. Loads of roadwork and a lunatic bus driver held us up. That and parents with kids going 2 stops to get to school. I mean what is wrong with showing an example and walking with the kids? It wasn't raining at the time and blind freddy could see the buses were rammed.

The company I work for are already struggling. This is not going to help one bit. The rest of this week will be a write off.

I love the way londeners start crying into their lattes when the tube is bust, despite having a bus service that puts most other large towns and cities to shame.
You don't know what his company does  (nor do I, but it might be directly affected by the strike).

No inconvenience to me - I cycle.

walked to train station, got on usual train, walked to work, arrived at usual time. sorted. bloody north londoners ;)

Bus was a bit crowded this morning so walked half the way into work before jumping on to bus which wasn't too crowded.

Simplicity itself

Just a slightly longer walk when I got into town

Its nice though, the streets aint so busy

Shouldn't have been as I go by overground train but there was signal failure this morning so it the trains were cancelled. Hopefully it'll be sorted by later today / tomorrow.

No problems for me really except it took me 1 hour and 15 mins using two buses instead of 45 mins by tube plus short bus journey.

Buses were less than half full and very little traffic - I did leave home at 5.45am though :D

I drove, in a Range Rover converted to run on coal. I managed a new record of 83 mph in a 30 zone, and ran over a kitten.

Took me two hours instead of 45 mins - train and bus. It's a bastard getting from West London to South London when there's no Tube. After a ten-hour shift overnight and feeling desperately tired, I wanted to weep. :(

took me an extra 30 minutes this morning but coming home (I left early :)) was the same as normal - Victoria line's running so no problem. working from home tomorrow so don't care :D
