Just looked at the official club website and saw a date has been fixed for this match. Winners will be away to Barking or Tower Hamlets in the following round.

Slightly gutted to miss this as it’s my nearest ground but it clashes with book club

Obvious solution: hold book club at Greenwich Borough FC that week.

There is now a decent pub within walking distance of Greenwich Borough FC's ground: https://www.therustybucket.pub/ (used to be a terrible old pub called The Crown and had been shut for years, reopened about six months ago as a nifty craft beer bar)

(And of course, there's The Long Pond on Westmount Road, a short B16 bus ride from both Greenwich Borough and Welling United)

One of two places in London that was announced as serving Cloudwater's cask ales (although this may not be the case yet?)

Darryl, you're like a sort of bacchanalian pied piper every time we play out that way. I always end up spoilt for choice! I'm supposed to be moving home the next day, but I might delay that until the Thursday. Then there's another trip to Welling for the Trophy match on Saturday 24th.

Any news of pitch inspections? It’s been tipping it down in Eltham.

2-2 penalty from the last kick of the match. Foul by Cheikh Toure. Kicks from the penalty mark to decide it.

If we could do it again in 3 degrees and driving rain that would be brilliant. Loved last night.

It is odd that they've reinstated extra time. I was listening to the radio commentary, Tom said there would be extra time, I was thinking "no there won't", then I could hear people I assumed to be club officials saying there should be extra time. I checked the programme for our match with Harrow Borough in last season's competition (the last home game to be played at Champion Hill) and it clearly states that no extra time would be played.

As for common sense, that may depend upon whether Greenwich want to make an issue of it.

If it's reported to LFA it's unlikely Greenwich will get any input into the decision tbh. It will be the cup committee's call and they wont want to be seen being influenced by a team, due to the risk of precedent.

As the match wasn't played in accordance with competition rules I suspect a rematch looms. Probably not what either side want.

When I used to officiate at a much lower league we were instructed to confirm with both teams pre match the rules around extra time etc so that everyone was clear and any errors were likely to be caught. Suspect these match officials will be doing that next time they do a cup match as it seems at least some of the club officials knew the right rules. It does seem very strange bringing extra time back mind.

Instead of a replay can we just do Rock Paper Scissors?

I was told before the game by our fixture Secretary John Lawrence that extra time would be played if necessary, as was due to be the case against Glebe in Round 1. At full time as Pink Panther rightly says, several of our board members could be heard saying that it should have been the case as well. Having said that I wasn’t upset to be out of the cold much quicker than I could have been!

You could be back in the cold for another 120 minutes in a couple of weeks for a rematch!

Might add that in spite of the new regime at the LFA it appears Gender Parity has gone out of the window at Hurlingham. Male Competitons down to under 12 all include some ET but even adult female ones do not.
