i'm still confused with your single post about the o'conor....

Derian is just pointing out that the pub you mention has been discussed earlier in the thread.

Calm down.

Onket was trying to remember the name of the pub that tony1798 suggested last year, good suggestion. Onket and tony1798 couldn't remember the name. I suggested that it might have been the O'Conor Don, turns out it was. It was a good suggestion last year, so it's probably a good suggestion this year.

There a pub you mentioned the other year. Now, what was it's name?

and on Valentines's too - how could you...

May need some local anaesthetic to assist with the heartbreak.

Hand in the Hand - Elephant & Castle

Can't place this one, although Dub knows it, so maybe it's down towards Kennington??

I've no idea what Liam Og's (just south of the Elephant) is like on March 17, but when my mate and I did quizzes there a few years back, the Guinness was good and atmosphere fine. Not sure what the authenticity level is like though -- when Irish pubs start to sell decent beer as well as Guinness, I'll be a better judge! :p

Tony you should do a crawl of Kilburn High Road and/or Upper Holloway area, for REAL authenticity!!! :p

On the 17th March I'm likely to be having a quiet night ...

<eta> But it's a Friday, so maybe not THAT quiet ...

I used to live up Kilburn way William, so not too keen on it... I'm thinking central, for ease of access to & fro' & I'm not really after authenticity per sa, just good Guinness and good venue.

By me being there, it'll make it authentic enough & I'll be ready for pugilism and poetry wherever I go...

kilburn is more antipodean now than irish, although there are still a few...stick with the o'conor tir na don, or whatever it's called :)

The Canterbury in Brixton is a good place. Good fast bar staff, live music, great craic.

Do you know what - i didn't get round to trying Guinness when i was visitin The Emerald Isle but i did try it the other day in The Railway Tavern (classy!) and i quite liked it!

I just wanted everyone to know that, from this day forth, i'm going to be a Guinness Gal! :D

As you were...

If thats tinkerbell's reaction when she tries Guinness ( -- no dissing from this direction) then think how much more she'll love it when she tries some PROPER beer!!! :p :D

William... our friendship is on very thin ice at the moment... :p

There's a rule with Guinness, well, I have a rule.. after 6 pints, that's every 6 pints of it, I have a pint of cider.. sort of like a refreshment. If I go to the 7th without that cider, I'm fecked...

so it's usually.

6 Guinness
1 Cider
6 Guinness
1 Cider
1 fight
3 Guinness
1 e
3 Guinness
1 Cider
1 Charge-sheet.

It's an slightly 'romanced it up' list tony surely .... unless you mean over 2 whole days!!!!
Good man William... starting to understand the spirit of it all... the Irish are great with 'romance'.

you're right tho'.. you can leave out the fight and the charge-sheet.
