The reason is that the CD album's not mixed, it's just a selection of the tracks featured in the mix (plus some that aren't, I think, like the roots manuva 'so you want morre' remix - though I only recently downloaded the heatwave mix & haven't listened to it much so can't be sure).

So you can't actually buy the Heatwave mix on CD and I can't see a way of downloading it (How did you manage it?). Will just have to listen to it for as long as it stays up on the web.....
Chazegee do you have a link to the History of the British MC?
Can i recommend that England Story mix that Heatwave did and Soul Jazz have just put out. Lots of old UK hip hip (including London Posse) as well as dancehall, grime etc...
Just come back from seeing Heatwave: An England Story. The music is very good. Its like The Ragga Twins meets Philipp Glass. The crowd is very young though. The MC was using phrases all the time that felt like they were rooted in a musical traidtion that he had little understanding of.
There was something lacking, I don't know what. At one point I thought it was because it was on CD rather than on vinyl, but no.....it was on vinly. It just kind of lacked something.....some kind of authenticity and connection to the root of the music.
