L'Occitane products

naff shopping channel, but good for beauty things. my secret shame is that i shop at qvc :o can hardly look the postie in the eye when he delivers the packages

Where do you work Drink, goddamit you cant keep all the goodies to yourself
i bet you give the best pressies.

L'occitane, yes I like them, agree about their shower gels, they're not good at all. I adore their almond range though, the shower oil and the exfoliating paste thing are my two necessary indulgences and the almond fragrance too is fantastic. foot cream is good. had a couple of their tinted lip balms which are nice. their scented candles and incense are also very nice indeed.
They used to do a patchouli perfume but discontinued it as soon as I decided it was my favourite, they did to the same to another perfume I loved, the bastards.
I wanted to try the angelica hair stuff beause it smells fab and Ive tried some of the shea butter hair range and thought it was okay. let me know what you think about it minnie

is it naff??? is the beauty stuff so top end???

The stuff is bloody nuclear IMO. Pretty certain that was the make of the stuff in the gift box I was given at christmas.

Which is now sitting in my greenhouse because I can't have it in the house or I'll go into a sneezing fit!

Well I've just had a nice long bath with my GlowDuck and L'Occitane products.

Shower cream doesn't foam much.
Shower gel was nice although it made me think I should be sticking a leg of lamb into the oven.
The shampoo I used smells lovely.
Conditioner - er, conditioner's condition innit

I love the Aromachologie line. The conditioner is fantastic, the best thing for straightening hair ever. I bought the wrong kind mistakenly when I was in the states, for $18 for a bottle of conditioner  (I was treating myself!) I think it's £18 here. Anyway, it's fantastic. Angelica essential oil. Anything else contain this that's cheaper?

Their actual shea butter, however, has been bleached into some strange pure white fake stuff. Shea butter should be tan/beige in colour and with a nutty smell in order to have the essential goodness it is famous for. Otherwise it's just an emolliant.

I don't think that's true, you can get shea butter that is light yellow or almost white, it depends on the season and crop.

they seem like they should be all natural but when you look at what's in them there's all sorts of crazy chemicals

I agree, you can get shea butter much more cheaply and add your own ingredients to it. I buy 120ml from Amphora Aromatics for about £5 and whip it up with some jojoba oil and a few drops of essential oils (if I can be bothered - otherwise I buy Palmers Shea Butter formula!)
