Liverpool v West Ham

Have to admit I'm not optimistic about this game. Liverpool have had a couple of shocking away games and will want to make amends for that. And our record at Anfield is pretty dire.

Any Hammers fans think we can snatch a draw? Or are the Poo fans on here certain to win.

I hope to god the hammers win, for my dear sanity.

Are you a Hammers fan, or a (liverpool hating) neutral?

I bloody hope we win too, but I doubt we will.

The only time we've come close to winning there recently was the 98-99 season where we got a 2-2 draw, but could have won 3-2 if a certain debutant player, Gavin Holligan (who has since vanished) had scored...

I'm going to this game and I hope the 'ammers can get a result, but I fear they might be the victims of a Liverpool backlash.

I hate West Ham.

One of those teams with shit fans. Who remembers the sweaty cockneys giving their manager untold amount of shit?

Then they always big up their former players - We won the world cup - bollocks.

Mooro, Hursty - yeah yeah whatever.

Brooking - floats like a butterfly and tackles like one too.

Accademy of football my arse.

Accademy of fat sweaty cockneys more like.

6-0 to the Mighty Reds.

Crouch (3) Morientes (3).

Yeah, I suppose the club which has discovered a good proportion of the current England squad must have a rubbish academy

I don't think that's fair. There's a hardcore of West Ham fans who have quite frankly put up with some real shit over the years in terms of players and management. Some of their fans have this sort of heartening belief that one day West Ham really will be the mighty Hammers and keep bangin on about West Ham winning the world cup, whilst at the same shaking their head in despair that even if West are 2-0 in the 70th minute, their team will still do something to fuck things up.

My boy is a West Ham fan :p whilst I am a lover of the Mighty Reds, innit

Having said all that, West Ham are having a much better season that most people would have given them credit for...but with the support of Anfield, Liverpool may be able to sort their game out and come up trumps.

A draw, I reckon.

I am neither, I am an Arsenal fan, but my partner is an avid Hammers fan, and I cant have him wallowing in pity if they lose. He has decorating to do.

Define "good" what are you looking for?

Any pubs close to Anfield will have lots of top Liverpool fans singing their hearts out - anything on Walton Breck road will be ded full though. The Park and The Albert were my favourites.

The Arkles is pretty much the "away" supporters pub on Anfield Road. The 77 bus from town stops nearby.

Cheers, I think we're heading to the Arkles to meet some people before the game.

How about in town for the evening? We're staying up there.

I fucking hate liverpool loads of fans thinking that they are a big team beacuse 20 years ago they were something good. Then just to make matters worse they take a shit squad and fluke a european championship somehow.
and as for bloody benitez the man is shit. He loves his defence and prides it above all else like attacking or playing nice football.

Liverpool are probbaley my most hated premiership team at the moment so fucking dull its like watching arsenal under george graham only alan smith is better then crouch and arse tended to win 1-0 rather then draw all the time.

I reckon we have a shout i know its liverpool and we should lose but they are shit going fowards and our defence has thus far been very solid. Slightly worried that bennysoun(i will spell that name different every time) is struggling but we should be competitive and if we play well maybe create a few early chances then i really can't see liverpool scoring two so we should get a draw.

if for no other reason then to piss relahni off.

oh and just for the recored no achemdy???

Rio, Lampard, Carrick, Defoe, Kerion Richardson, Joe cole all have been through the academy doors recently and all should be in the england world cup sqaud which is definatly something to be proud of.

it is not all about results. benitez is club level sven. Might get you results but no passion no one gives a shit and attacking doesn't exist.

I would perfer never to get into europe again but play decent football the win the champions league while your fans fall asleep(final not included obviously).
Just preferably without ever having to get relegated again. That was not cool.

and to be fair yeah it probbaley is all about carragher at the minute, last season gerrad carried you the entire year though.

How have you come to the conclusion that Benitez has no passion for the club, really, I'm intrigued?

As for the attacking (or lack of) accusation, well, that's hardly a new phenomenon since Benitez turned up, is it? They were cries of "attack, attack, attack attack attack" a many a game under Houlier as well.

So, no decent places to drink in Liverpool then?

The Sandon is quite a good place to have a drink. I'm not too sure on how i see this match will end up. West Ham are playing some good attractive footie and playing with 2 wingers which is a bit of a rare sight in the top flight.

Yossi Benayoun will have a field day if Josemi is playing at right back, Reo-Coker it will be interesting to see how he performs tommorow, and of course Anton Ferdinand, who's looking very promising.

Kained, R.Dog and the other 'appy hammers fans - i think that it will be a 2-2 draw and don't be suprised that West Ham pull off a victory tommorow. Depending if Alan Pardew continues with his mainly attacking policy which has a breath of fresh air.

Ah...sorry, got waylaid. :o

What sort of thing do you like? I'd generally say avoid the Cavern Quarter like the plague - lots of tourisy Beatles themed bars that seem to be chockful of pissed up women in lill fitting lycra doing the bad thing with unsuitable men in doorways that stink of piss, but that's just my opinion ;)

I'd head up to the other end of town, towards the Hardman Street end of town (towards where Cream used to be if you know Liverpool at all) It's a bit studenty, but at least there are a couple of places with character. Go to Baa Baa on Fleet Side if you want to get proper drunk. Great shooters in there... :D
